TNT's Television Show "Dark Blue" Is A Loser Show

THE DOCTOR IS IN
________________

LAS VEGAS- Hello America, and how is the world treating you?

To Kim, who asked me to give her my opinion on the television program "DARK BLUE."

This undercover unit for LAPD who is supposedly secretly working off-the books in my opinion is a loser show. The network TNT who airs the program on Wednesdays at 9:00 p.m.promotes the show like it was really something special. They brag that is is a great show. Wrong! The show is completely off base with its characters: Team leader Carter Shaw (Dylan McDermott, Ty Curtis (Omari Hardwick),Dean Bendis (Logan-Marshall Green) try to play the macho thing too much. McDermott is mostly always yelling or screaming. Overacting? you bet. Some of the scenarios the writers put this team in is ridiculous. Each of the team members often refuse orders, go out on their own and do their own thing. Nothing authentic about that. In real cop shop that doesn't happen.

Also this new addition of Helfer, as FBI agent Alex Rice is a joke. She's the FBI agent who is sleeping with the team leader and supposedly when the FBI is supposed to be in charge of a situation, she most always defers to team leader Carter Shaw.

This show started out a very dark and dreary drama. The overacting and the appearance of this team doesn't even come close to conveying any emotional hardships of a LAPD undercover person. These actors who are portrayed as a dirty, grimy, unkept team doesn't represent a good cop show.

This team with all their dirt and grit and half-shaven faces come across like a bunch of old guys who try to act like teen gang members.

Since "Dark Blue" debuted last summer it hasn't improved really that much. It's a wonder it lasted this long. It's still dark and dreary, the story lines are not very good and they are unbelievable. The stories doesn't even begin to resemble a real life situation. I predict this show will fall by the wayside unless the writers start getting real and the producers make this team present with a much better appearance. Right now I think this show is destined for the toilet. And, - that's my opinion. On a rating of 1 to 5 stars I would give it a (1). Make your own decisions. You decide.
