Hello America, and how is the world treating you?
In order to boost healthcare for our veteran's the government wants to spend $17 BILLION DOLLARS. The government never learns, especially by their past mistakes. Instead their only solution is to throw money at the problem. The Congress wants to ding us taxpayers for $17 billion dollars and I predict that will not solve the situation at the VA.
My suggestion to Obama, his White House staff and Congress is to PRIVATIZE the agency. Why? Because it is riddled with corruption where administrators and employees LIE, CHEAT and STEAL from us taxpayers. The VA has been taking billions of dollars from us for decades but instead of performing the jobs they were supposed to do they used the money to collect their bloated salaries plus over the top "BONUSES". My question to the agency would be: Why the bonuses? Employees in the private sector working their nine- to five- jobs DO NOT receive bonuses. They work for their annual salary, vacations and, their 401(k) retirement plans.
The VA and their greed squandered billions of dollars, raping us taxpayers and covering up their misdeeds. -- FOR YEARS, while congress and Washington sat on their duffs with a wink and nod.
Since the investigation of the VA began and it was discovered that these lousy, incompetent, cheating employees served themselves for financial and personal gain and knowingly allowed hundreds, if not thousands of our veterans to DIE, the congress just this week said -- "get this" --TWO employees who were caught destroying files and evidence in the investigation should be fired. Really? Two people? Talk about a cover up?
So back to my original thought and suggestion: Privatize the VA, Immediately. People in the private sector could do a much better job that these lazy federal employees that only care about the enormous bonuses they decided to take from us taxpayers, their federal benefits and salary and lucrative retirement plan. The VA's policy as set by the administrators of the agency appears to be: The hell with the veterans, postpone their medical appointments, let them die. Just pay me.
Lawmaker Dina Titus wrote an editorial a few days ago saying to privatize the VA would be wrong because people in the private sector couldn't take care of veterans,. My reply to that silly, immature, crazy statement is this. Where does Ms. Titus think many of the the medical personnel working in the VA hospitals originally came from? They came from the private sector, Titus. The nurses, doctors and other health care professionals began their training in universities, hospitals and clinics outside the Veteran Administration. For her to say doctors and nurses in the private sector cannot competently treat veterans medical problems is ludicrous. Vets have the same health problems that any person in the country experiences and the health care professionals working in clinics and hospitals around the country treat these ailments on a daily basis. Even PTSD and brain and head trauma is treated by private sector heath care personnel every day in this country.
Dina Titus and her views is a good reason why we should have term limits for politicians.There once was the complaint of "fuzzy math" by some politicians but in this case Titus is using "fuzzy thinking." I believe she is just looking out for her seat on committees in Washington and spouting a party line. It's politics people ----
I say there is a great argument to privatize the VA. The doctors and health professionals in the private sector can and should treat the veterans of this country. They could do it better and cheaper. But I guess with the billions of dollars that congress is asking for and intends to dump back into this dysfunctional organization makes Dina Titus and her ilk lips water so they can continue the spending and maintain the status quo of the corruption perpetuated.
Finally, the idea of replacing the head of the VA saying that will fix the problem is dumb. The new director cannot change the culture of greed, lies, deception and cheating by the current administrators and employees working there. He's peeing in the wind. It's just a job to a friend of politicians. The ONLY way to fix the VA -- PRIVATIZE and get rid of all the current employees on the job. - And, that's my opinion. Make your own decisions. You decide.

SENIOR CITIZENS STILL LOSE OUT ON SOCIAL SECURITY COLA's

Hello America, and how is the world treating you?
A government report says the Social Security fund will be solvent and "fundamentally secure" until 2034. They project a social security increase to all Americans next year for 1.5 percent. Wow! Can you imagine? That paltry increase will be one of the lowest since automatic increases were adopted in the 1970's. They say the increase is based on the governments measurement of inflation.
The disability trust fund is estimated to run dry in TWO YEARS and the hospital trust fund is expected to be depleted in 2030.
My thoughts are that Congress always give lip service to the Medicare and Social Security funds and continually state that they have to reform the programs BUT they never act.
It is my opinion that Congress has abused the Social Security disability fund for decades. They began giving disability payments to people who were not meant to receive the payments. Social security was meant for those that paid into the system so they would have a stipend to help in their later years to supplement their retirement. What did the government do? They began giving social security disability payments to children and others that were no disabled and to those that never, ever, paid a dollar into the social security system.
The governments idea of a disabled person has morphed into (anyone that applies for social security disability) can receive it. Instead of paying out to people in cases where the physical disability is EVIDENT, (i.e.) in wheelchairs, terminal illness, limbs missing, etc., payments are being made to persons faking MENTAL conditions like PTSD and every other mental condition the person can offer with the help of a psychologist or psychiatrist. Again, originally, a working person was supposed to collect social security after they retired at 65 years old. It was not meant for hand outs to children and all the others who say their "disabled," when clearly they are NOT.
Folks the attorney's in this country have a meal ticket on preparing people to collect monies for the Social Security system. They have the doctors and chiropractor's standing in line to swear to whatever the attorney wants them to say. There have been many cases reported where the attorney's had a legal mill pushing through false claims of social security disability -- a racket. Some attorney's made MILLIONS by playing the system and having their clients collect large disability payments for LIFE. That's wrong! But it is still happening.
As to those senior citizens who worked all their life and now collect social security they are being penalized because of all the people collecting that shouldn't even see a social security check. Seniors used to receive approximately three (3%) percent annual increase every year. Now, in recent years the government has reduced those COLA's to 1.5 percent and less. BUT, the irony is the federal government employees, which includes Congress and public employees in every city and state in the nation are always receiving cost of living increases (COLA's) of 3, 4, 5, 6, and sometimes up to 10 percent a year. People, there is no parity or equity for the senior citizen. Come on! 1.5% for seniors and u to 10 % for Public employees and lawmakers. I say that if our millionaire lawmakers in Congress and lawmakers in every city and state in America can give themselves COLA's up to ten (10%) each year, they should be able to pay senior citizens on social security at least a three(3%) each year. In recent years the social security increase was wiped away by the increase in Medicare costs. It costs seniors $104.90 a month out of their social security so the 1.5% COLA is laughable.
I submit that our lawmakers in Congress have to stop the rip off of the social security program. When a person has limbs missing, a terminal illness, physically impaired where they cannot operate a motor vehicle and/or surgery has taken them out of the work force ... that is the people who should/ can collect social security disability. The physical disability has to be seen and it has to be the sort that will prevent that person from working for the rest of their life. If a person can perform any type of job they should not receive any social security disability. --And, that's my opinion. Make you own decisions. You decide.

IT'S TIME TO REIN IN ISRAEL AND STOP THE WAR MONGERING

Hello America, and how is the world treating you?
The Israeli's are at it again. This is the seventh day of military action into Gaza. Palestinian civilians are being slaughtered. Israel sent in gunships today killing even more people.
Israel says it is acting in self defense, but I don't buy that argument. Today again, Netanyahu said his goal is to "DEGRADE" the Palestinian's rocket site but in reality his intention is to destroy each and every building in Gaza that he can, at whatever cost, - - even human life. Israel is also ready to invade Gaza with ground troops. Every time Israel invades any territory Netanyahu and his countries leaders always use the same excuse -- "we are going to "degrade" the enemies capabilities". How does that square with the destruction of Mosques, schools, hospitals (where disabled people were killed)? The murder of old women and children? From my point of view -- IT DOESN'T.
Netanyahu's only wants to demolish everything he can in Gaza while he attacks under the guise of self-defense. He, and the Israel military has no regard for civilian lives. whatsoever. They want to grind the ill-equipped Palestinians and the Gaza Strip into dust. Israel is the war mongers of the Middle East region.
To excuse the civilian deaths Netanyahu comes up with the rationale that the Hamas is firing from civilian homes, schools and hospitals and that is why Israel is destroying the building and murdering civilians.
Folks, if Israel, specifically Netanyahu, had taken action against the Israeli criminals who "set" a young Palestinian teenager ablaze (burning him alive), rockets would have never been fired into Israel. I say Netanyahu should have "immediately arrested the Israeli criminals and "bull dozed" their families house into the dirt, like they do to the Palestinians when they believe the Palestinians did something wrong.
Now about the unequal fight going on in the Mideast. The Palestinian people have no real weapons to fight back with. They use rocks and sticks against Israel soldiers. There's no air power, sea power or even a military to protect the Palestinians in any conflict. BUT, on the other side: Israel has an air force, sea power, the most sophisticated, modern weapons (courtesy of the United States) to use against their foes. I'm not going to get into the nuke situation at this time, that Israel always denies holding.
Israel also has the "IRON DOME" to protect it's territory from rocket fire from Gaza. According to reports the "Iron Dome" intercepts and destroys 97 percent of all of the rockets fired into Israel. Again, that defense system is courtesy of the United States. Beside the Iron Dome system the USA has also provided Israel with an immaculate defense system.
There is clearly no real "equal playing field" when it comes to Israel and Palestinians. With all of the military might the USA provided Israel the battle now being fought can be likened to Godzilla trampling cities beneath it's feet. Godzilla always wins and because we, the USA,provide Godzilla with all the tools to crush the cities, it's a foregone conclusion who will always win between these two foes.
What the USA should have done from the get-go between the Israel/Palestinian conflict was to provide both sides with the same military weapons so each side had equal footing in a fight. I would, predict that if this was done both sides would be hesitant of attacking each other.
As it stands now Israel has had it's boots on the neck of the Palestinians for decades telling them where to live, who can come and go, where they can go, etc. --- Israel has occupied and held down the Palestinian people to flaunt their power in the region for too long. With their military might there is no contest as to who will win a war, no matter how brief.
Why the United States, and the rest of the world continues to support Israel's behavior is beyond me? They are the bully on the block. Why we continue to pay Israel more in economic/military aid than any other country is questionable.
Shame on the United States for tasking sides and "always" supporting Israel in any Mideast conflict and/or any negotiations. It's ONE-SIDED diplomacy. We arm Israel to the teeth, we provide them military intelligence, weapons and give them BILLION of DOLLARS each year, neglecting the Arabs needs. Also, shame on the other countries that allow this one-sided foreign policy to exist. - And, that's my opinion.Make your own decisions. You decide.

REVIEW: TV SERIES, "EXTANT."

Hello America, and how is the world treating you?
This must be the month for movie, TV episode requests. Robert J, from Cleveland, OH asked me for my opinion on the new show "EXTANT", on CBS, starring Halle Berry.
Robert, the show had a lot of hype in it's promotion and commercials but this is my view as I see it.
EXTANT is old news -- in my opinion, the show ripped off scenes, story lines, effects and a lot more from previous Sci-Fi shows and producers. It appears to be a rehash of the old worn out Sci-Fi themes.
Oscar winner Halle Berry stars in the series but I think she's above this series. The show (I don't want to say-"stole"), maybe borrowed scenes, ideas, imagery from the old school Sci-Fi movies.
Come On! The credits should have acknowledged at least shows like: ("The Alien,), Why? Lets cite the an unexplained SPACE/GALACTIC pregnancy. Also, remember, Rosemary's Baby? It's the same stuff.
I predict that viewers will clearly be one step ahead of the story by anticipating and knowing what comes next. It's like one has seen this over and over again in tons of Sci-Fi stories that has gone before. To me, there is nothing new here. It's the same ol' grist, recopied, duplicated and spewed out. I think that if the viewer is expecting something different in a Sci-Fi genre, they will be totally disappointed.
In this mis-mosh I saw old bits and pieces of movies such as: Alien, 2001 Space Odyssey, not to mention Solaris, Moon, and Gravity. And, to top off the story line we have the old ragged: What's the space alien baby going to look like? Really? How many prior movies and TV shows used that premise. That wouldn't be enough to hold me as viewer.
I would suggest that some of these Sci-Fi writer's have to come up with some new, fresh ideas. The idea of borrowing from what was in a Sci-Fi pic before and just warming it over is turn off for me. - And, that's my opinion. Make your own decisions. You decide.

TWO AND A HALF MEN REVIEW: SHEEN vs. KUTCHER

This reply goes out to Angela B., from Laguna Hills, CA. Angela asked me for my opinion of rating the sitcom TWO AND A HALF MEN, comparing the old version with the new version. Sheen vs. Kutcher, in starring roles.
Okay, here it is:
The old series with Charlie Sheen was a very clever, funny show. It had great writer's and Sheen delivered the goods. The entire cast worked well together in the Charlie Sheen episodes.
The new version is stale. Ashton Kutcher doesn't impress me as a comedian. In my opinion Kutcher lacks delivery, timing and stage presence. And, it's not the writer's fault. They indeed write good material but it is not carried or delivered well by Kutcher. He tries too hard to carry the lead in the show which comes across as overacting. Personally, Angela, I can't see the networks paying this guy the big bucks he receives. My source told me Kutcher gets $750,000 per episode, WOW! That's seems over the top for someone of Kutcher's acting talents.
True, Sheen was making much, much,more per episode but his acting abilities were exceptional as he interacted with the other cast members.
I know Sheen made some inappropriate comments regarding the producers and the show but he later apologized. My feelings is the producers should have made nice, used the policy: forgive and forget, maybe even cut Sheen's salary for an extended time. But I think they should have kept the show on air with Sheen in the starring role. - And, that's my opinion. Make your own decisions. You decide.

President Obama is a failure as president. He is losing support by the day. I believe one of the reasons is because Americans think he may be a liar, on may issues.
Lets look at the Iraq war. prior to him ever coming to office as president he was adamantly against it. He hammered President Bush constantly. He said we should not be there, should never have went in. He also said he would get "all" of the troops out of Iraq, he didn't. Now, on this second go round in Iraq he said he would only send in 200 military personnel to Iraq. Guess what? He misinformed, or lied again. He later raised the number of troops to 250, then 300, and God knows where his estimates will stop. He also sent warships to the region, put warplanes on alert for possible action and he authorized drone attacks. Lies? Possibly?
As it stands now, as of last week, 58 percent of Americans DISAPPROVE of the way Obama is handling foreign policy, a jump of 10 points in the last month.
As of 06/03/2014, more voters say they are dissatisfied with Obama and his handling of MOST ISSUES, giving him the WORST marks of any modern president. In a recent poll; 33 percent of voters said Obama was the WORST president since World War II.
Let's not forget Obama's dumb move of signing a "Do Not Deport Illegal Alien Children, order. When he did that he opened the flood gates and allowed an invasion of tens of thousands of "illegal alien" children from Central and South America to cross our borders. The "illegal alien children", and their mothers are now costing the American taxpayer BILLIONS of dollars to house these uneducated, poverty stricken, people, sending them to military bases and facilities all over the United States. Obama and Vice president Biden also say they will send BILLIONS of dollars to Central and South America in the hopes that the children will stay in their country. ARE THEY KIDDING? Obama gives the order not to deport and is spending billions to house them here in the United States. That will only encourage thousands and thousands more to enter the country "ILLEGALLY."
Just two days ago I saw Obama on television, welcoming new immigrants into the U.S. by taking the oath of citizenship. Folks, I have no problem with that. The people that stood in line ,who filled out all the proper paperwork over the years and waited their turn, those who also studied the laws and constitution and played by the rules to be citizens is GREAT. That is the kind of immigrants that certainly deserve to become citizens of America. That is the kind of citizens we need and welcome to America. But where does Obama and his administration get off by allowing tens of thousands of "illegal alien " children and their mothers to run into the arms of Border Patrol agents knowing they can be accepted here. THAT IS WRONG.
It is estimated that approximately 10,000 "illegal alien" children and their mothers are crossing into the United States each and every month. I predict that Obama and his administration will do everything in their power to allow these "illegal aliens" to stay in the country.
This just proves the point tat we cannot believe Obama when he told us that the borders were secure. He and his Democrats scream for "comprehensive" immigration. What is comprehensive immigration, anyway? It appears Obama's definition is "allow all illegal aliens" entry into the United States. If Obama was an honest, trustworthy person he would have had the borders secured by a "double" fence, running the full 2000 mile stretch. Instead, Obama told Congress to let the illegals in FIRST, and then he would secure the border. Really? Who can believe this guy?
Folks, I think Obama has lied to the American people so often, his middle name should be Pinocchio . His nose grows longer every time he makes a speech.
This country was built on immigrants who came to America in the early 1900's, who learned the English language as quickly as possible and who worked to earn citizenship by FOLLOWING all the of rules to become citizens. The already 11 MILLION to 20 MILLION "illegal aliens" which seem to impress Obama and his Democratic party CAME here ILLEGALLY. They clearly did not stand in line or follow the rules to become citizens of the USA. These same "illegal aliens" refuse to learn the English language and assimilate into the American culture. They choose to live in their own neighborhoods and continue to turn the area into a small replication of where they immigrated from. Americans should not have to learn another language to accommodate.
Now, this new invasion of "illegal alien" children, most who cannot speak English, can't read, can't write, even in their own language, expect America to take them in, feed them, educate them and dress them. Folks, I predict that Obama, the justice department and his administration will throw up road blocks for years in order to have these ignorant, uneducated, "illegal alien" children remain in America. It shouldn't be that way but it appears that is the way things are going. However, it is no surprise to me that Obama does what he does because he and his colleagues have already apparently pulled strings to have one or more of his relatives EVADE DEPORTATION and stay in the United States. And, -that's my opinion. Make up your own mind. You decide.
