Mayor Bloomberg is Wrecking New York City.
16 Ounce Sodas? My Advice- BUY ONE, GET ONE FREE.

THE KUHNS REPORT

LAS VEGAS-Hello America, and how is the world treating you?

The mayor of New York City is up to his nanny, " I'll take care of you" games-AGAIN. Now he wants to restrict a persons choice as to how much soda they want to drink. Michael Bloomberg now wants all restaurants, fast food, convenience stores, Ball Parks, entertainment gatherings, etc., to only sell sodas and sweet drinks in 16 ounce, or less, containers. Wow! Where is this idiot coming from? Many people enjoy a soda in a 32 or 64 ounce cup. He and his "in the pocket" City Health Department officials banned smoking, then it was trans fats, then calorie counts, and now he and his cohorts dictate how much a person can drink.

Where is the New Yorker's residents outrage? His millions of dollars bought himself a new term in office and at the same time bought him politicians and lawmakers to do his bidding. Now New Yorker's, like sheep, follow him and go along with his crazy ideas.

This country was founded on a person's liberty and freedom. Freedom of choice is a biggie, yet the citizens of New York allow this looney-tune take away their freedom of choice, little by little by declaring "It's for your own good," "It's a health issue."He says, "What I'm doing is good for you." Folks, that is a bunch of gobbly-gook. People can make their own decisions. They have been doing it for decade, even before Bloomberg was born.and the world didn't stop or come to an end. Life went on very well before Bloomberg came on the scene. His nanny state attitude is a detriment to every citizen in the  city of New York, the state and the country as a whole. The nation can do well without these fanatical do-gooders.

This recent Bloomberg fiasco of restricting a persons soda/soft drink consumption will have a large economic detrimental effect on both the large soft drink corporations, distributors, various companies and the small business owner. If it were me and I owned a corporation like Coke, Pepsi  or even a company like Slurpee, I would sue Bloomberg and his Health Department zombies that follow  his bidding.

Hell, this Mayor comes up with crazy ideas to take away a persons "right to choose" and then calls up his Health Department goons who walk in lock step with him, who are beholden to him and they rationalize the ban or law as one that is a health problem.

People, here is here my suggestion to each and every restaurant, convenience store, McDonald's, Wendy's, Jack in the Box, Burger King and every other fast food place in the city. - - - Offer a "BUY ONE, GET ONE FREE." or "BUY ONE, get the second for a PENNY or DIME. So the result: The customer  buys Bloomberg's 16 ounce soda but they wind up with a 32 ounce, since the second is FREE or at a very nominal cost.

A question to ponder- What happens if a customer walks into a grocery store or convenience store and buys a 64 ounce bottle of Coke, Pepsi, 7 - Up, etc, and has his or her  own drinking cup, even a 16 ounce cup? Is Bloomberg going to confiscate the 64 ounce bottle of soda telling the person they can only drink 16 ounces of the soda? I wouldn't put it past him.

The BUY ONE, GET ONE free offer would allow the customer to indulge their desires. The only down side I can see with this idea is that the customer will be carrying more than one cup. Big Deal. At least they would be getting the amount of soda/soft drink they want.

And, finally, a suggestion to the citizens of New York City. Throw this bum out on the street. Use peaceful protest and don't allow this small minded man who has a small mined view of freedom trample your liberties and freedom of choice. If New Yorker's do not put a muzzle on this crazy person, where will it stop? You won't be allowed to eat greasy foods? Will he ban fried chicken, burgers, pizza? Don't forget the sweets - -pies, cakes, candy, ice cream, etc.

Bloomberg is the problem, not the people of New York City. Let him look out for his own health and put whatever he wants in his and his families body and let us people do the same. -  And, that's my opinion. Make your own decisions. You decide.

Chicago Teachers and All Public Employee's Should Be Let Go. Start Over Lawmakers.

THE KUHNS REPORT

LAS VEGAS

Hello America, and how is the world treating you?

The Chicago Teachers union is nothing but a bunch of greedy public employees who are always trying to scam the system. Folks, the average teacher in Chicago  already earns a very generous $76,000 a  year, plus all the goodies and benefits that no one in the private sector can ever hope to enjoy.

Just one benefit worth mentioning is the teachers have been grabbing a guaranteed 4 to 7 percent cost of living each year. People! No one in the private sector is "guaranteed" a 4% to 7% bump in salary each and every year just for showing up to work  everyday.. Christ, even the senior citizens on social security who worked all their life had their COLA's cut from 3 percent a year to 1.2 percent a year and for  two years did not receive any cost of living increases. The hard working roofers, carpet layers, waiter's and waitresses, or the 7-11 employees, the sales people in department stores does not ever see a guaranteed cost of living increase in salary. No hard working employee in the private sector is guaranteed job security, let alone cost of living increases of four to seven percent. Those in the private sector are just glad to have a job making $20,000, $30,000 and if lucky, $40,000 a year.

The banks don't even pay 1% interest on peoples savings and these idiot teachers want the private sector taxpayers who are struggling to keep their head above water and put food on the table for their own  family to pay them  $76,000 a year and in addition, boost their teachers salary another four percent a year. These teachers and all public employees pander to the lawmaker's and arrange union contracts that rip off the average working John and Jane Doe to provide themselves with lavish salaries, cost of living increases, free medical for them and their families and an over generous pension until they die. GREED, GREED, GREED is the name of the game for these public employee unions. How much is too much?

If I were Mayor of Chicago I would immediately void all union contracts and start from scratch and hire people with an annual salary like the private sector workers have to depend on. If the city has to  file for bankruptcy to VOID out the union contracts, DO IT.

Have the teachers then work for a reasonable wage like everyone else breaking their back to get by. Cut out the guaranteed cost of living increases, merit pay, free or near free medical for the teachers and their families for life and as to pensions,  the Mayor and the state should have ALL public employees put into a 401(k) retirement plan like the average employee.

Folks, no one in the private sector is guaranteed anything other than a quoted yearly salary and possibly a weeks paid vacation and if the employee doesn't perform and do the job they are fired. Why should these public employees be guaranteed job security, wages, pensions, etc.

My suggestion to the Mayor of Chicago. - - -  Do not buckle to these unions. Re-work all  union contracts and if the teachers and other public employee's doesn't like the terms, hell, fire them, let them quit and go get a job elsewhere. They will soon learn how hard it is out  there in a work force where there is no guarantees. There will be people standing in line for their jobs.

I suggest it was a sad day when lawmakers in states across the nation allowed public employees to unionize. These public unions use their power to influence the politicians and promise to support them in office if, in fact, the lawmaker keeps giving them fat salaries, job security, medical and pensions. I don't know about you folks but I have enough trouble finding ways to pay for my own families medical bills . I surly do not want to pay for  all of these public employees and their families medical  bills for their lifetime.

And, that's my opinion. Make your own decisions. You decide.
