C,ALIFORNIA WAS THE GOLDEN STATE. NOW IT'S A GARBAGE DUMP LANDFILL.

California is now a cess pool. It;s disgusting. I used to live in the state. I lived there  between 1956 and 1993. But now , I don't recognize the state and what it has morphed into. Believe it or not it used to be the GOLDEN STATE. But now it's nothing but one big trash bin. For one,  the homeless population is wrecking the state, big time.  What used to be pristine, sunny, clean beach communities has turned into  homeless tent cities spanning the entire Southern Coastline,   Northern California is getting even worse. Look at San Francisco. It once was a pinnacle of style, class and cleanliness , now it  looks like a garbage dump.Its streets are lined with stacks of garbage. Homeless encampments are set up even on the downtown streets by the city hall. The streets are filthy.They are littered with used drug needles, and the homeless urinate and "poop" on the street, in the mornings, and evenings, in front of other people trying to carry on daily business. This is occurring in  high rated tourists spots, exclusive hotels, government centers, and children's parks and playgrounds. The homeless also  have tent communities set up near schools, business properties and they even flow over into  upscale,  residential areas throughout California.

Now lets talk about the illegal immigrants in the state. California is filled with about 11 million.  California has one of the highest number of people on welfare in the entire country. And  the majority appear to be illegal aliens taking advantage of the system.And another drain on California taxpayers is the food stamp program which is abused by the same group of people. Combine,the welfare and food stamp give-a-ways to these people and I would suggest it is even a larger that many countries on the globe provide. It's a disgrace.

Keep in mind also that the illegal immigrants who are living in California do not want to assimilate into American society. They want to have their own separate country within the country of the U. S. Fact is, 40 to 50 percent of the Californians (mostly illegal aliens) living at home do not speak English. The state has a number of cities that filed or went bankrupt and that doesn't surprise me because the state is running a debt of an approximate 1,5 TRILLION DOLLARS. Is it any wonder that the bridges and highways are trashed and crumbling before your very eyes and the school and educational  system  is failing dramatically and rated as one of the worse in the nation?

It's a sad state of affairs. You can blame  most of these problems on a very liberal group of political power people maintaining a stranglehold on the state, the sanctuary city policy of protecting criminal illegal aliens and allowing them to  run amok in the streets , raping, committing burglary, armed robberies,  and collecting all the freebies that the state gives away.

I submit that California politicians forgot the American citizen, the hard working middle class person that pays the  taxes for their  greed. They give away more benefits and advantage to illegal aliens than they ever even consider giving the the American citizen that built their state and  made into the GOLDEN STATE, which is long gone now. I  see California as one big garbage landfill getting larger by the day. - And, that's my opinion. Make your own decision. You decide.

A reader wanted to know my opinion of the paleo diet. I myself have tried many diets over the years and have tried paleo and I have my preferences but lets discuss the paleo diet. You will be eating a lot of saturated fat  with the red meat, egg yolks and cheese.  Naturally, remember moderation  is the key word when eating these things. All these mentioned foods can change your body metabolism and make-up. There can be changes in your blood stream and and intestinal tract presenting a risk of heart disease, stroke or even cancer. Also I have found that when using this diet I failed to get enough fiber and poly nutrients from whole grain foods which I felt a need for. I switched to a plant-based diet regimen. It is hard for the human body to handle saturated fats for long periods of time or on a regular basis. Plant fats are loaded with polyphenols. That's good.  If your choose to eat animal based food I would suggest  sticking to foods like fish, skinless poultry (turkey and chicken) and other foods like avocados and walnuts and beans. - And, that's  my opinion. Make your own decisions. You decide.

A FAVORITE DIET OF MINE?  HERE"S ONE MY FAVORITES.

To answer a second request as to,  do I have a favorite diet. As I  previously stated in a prior blog, I have tried many, many different diets over the years but I have to say one of my favs is the Mediterranean Diet. It has been around for quite awhile and has a lot of participants. It leans  a lot toward seafood, veggies and grains. Fact is, the American Stroke Association has endorsed the Mediterranean Diet as a way for people with pre-and-post-stroke conditions to fare better.  And the Mediterranean  Diet is good for the heart and has other beneficial results for all around good health. It may even let you trim a few excess pounds to allow you to become a little leaner and meaner.

BUT, if you want to try a diet that pumps up and muscles up  the Mediterranean Diet by giant leaps and bounds that improves not only the  bodies health but your mind (very good for people with cognitive problems and mental decline), kick the Mediterranean Diet up with things that include grains, and green leafy veggies. To improve one's mental abilities I would suggest and recommend that you eat at least three servings of whole grains,  and a variety of green leafy veggies. Use all colors of veggies, try them all. Eat them every day. And if you drink wine, drink one glass of wine each day. If you snack, choose nuts as your first choice as a snack.  Walnuts are a good choice. They are high in omega-3. Try to include beans in your meals at least  every other day, choose skinless turkey and chicken and a variety of berries in your meal plan at least twice a week. And, finally, include fish in your  meals at least once a week.

Remember, all of the foods I recommend here are jam packed with a super abundance of nutrients like folate, vitamin E,  carotenoids and flavonoids and omega-3 fatty acids. So, go for it. It's a punched up version of the Mediterranean Diet. I think it will work wonders for both your body and mind. -And, that's my opinion. Make your own decisions. You decide.
