CONGRESS- DON'T SEND A BILLION DOLLARS TO UKRAINE

THE KUHNS REPORT

LAS VEGAS - Hello America, and how is the world treating you?

Congress approves Ukraine aid. Wow! They intend to give  ONE BILLION DOLLARS to  a bunch of corrupt politicians and people around the world. How and why our lawmakers decide to throw our tax money away boggles ones mind. Both Democrats and Republicans in Congress should have denied any aid to the Ukraine. Their problems is none of our business. What is happening  there is the business of Ukraine and Russia. I clearly oppose any foreign intervention. It is not our job to come to the rescue of every foreign country that starts an internal conflict . This story happens over and over again. A country starts internal conflicts involving different factions and then decide to cry and sob to America for assistance. They want us, the USA to pull their fat out of the fire by giving them military support, billions of dollars in aid and rebuild their country for them and like a bunch of dumb bunnies our mentally challenged lawmakers choose up sides and send our tax dollars to those countries. Many in congress have their own agenda when they take these actions of interfering in conflicts of other countries.

Take Syria as a good example. That is not our problem. It was a civil war among Syria's population. Obama said he would not get involved in the Syrian conflict but yet, "another lie" by him. He and some of his colleagues on the hill chose sides and like previous situations decided to stick their nose in another country's  business and internal strife. It has been reported that Obama is now going to send military weapons systems to the rebels who are fighting the Syrian government. What a hypocrite. Could you imagine if we here in the United States had an internal conflict happening, maybe a civil war, etc.,  - - and another country started to back the rebels or those people that took up arms against the government by supplying weapons, military support and money? You know Obama and lawmakers would tell the world to stay out of our internal situations while  our government would use military might to put down an uprising here on our soil. So, why should  the United States continue to interfere with other countries internal struggles and chose sides and support certain factions.

I predict that if the United States continues down this road of interfering with other countries  internal problems our nation as we know it is doomed for failure - -economically and socially. We will be looked upon as the tyrant of the world.   A country who is trying to force our way of life and beliefs on the rest of the planet.

Back to the main point of giving billions of dollars to the Ukraine. We don't even know where this money will go. Our lawmakers are so concerned about their fifteen minutes in the lime light they haven't even given thought as to how the billion  dollars will be spent . They did the same thing in Afghanistan - -throwing billions and billions of dollars in CASH to corrupt politicians, heads of government and warlords. And what happened? Besides losing all of those billions of dollars to corrupt people our administration admitted that they actually lost track of additional millions of dollars that  could not be accounted for. They didn't know where it went. My question to our Congress: How do you  lose track of millions and millions of dollars? Folks, mark  my words. The same thing will happen in the Ukraine deal. You would think our  dummy lawmakers would learn by their mistakes but apparently they do not. They keep repeating the same stupid behavior over and over again expecting a different result.

This Ukraine payoff is a move by the United States only to save face because Russia's Putin poked a stick in the eye of  the good ol' USA. Now our lawmakers are saying a billion dollars to the Ukraine will  get them back on their feet but in reality people it will do nothing worthwhile for the Ukraine people. The money will be lost to corruption, maybe even pay offs to Russia.

After the billion dollars, what next? Are we supposed to support the Ukraine  into perpetuity? Don't you think we are  paying too many other countries to be loyal to the USA. We do nothing but try to buy other countries loyalty and allegiance by throwing billions of dollars into their coffers and rebuilding their country to the detriment of our own country. If the truth be known these countries willingly take our money and support but consider the USA as the ugly American. My suggestion: Do not send  a billion dollars to Ukraine. Use that billion dollars here at home. AMERICA FIRST.- And, that's my opinion. Make your own decision. You decide.

UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS SHOULD NOT BE EXTENDED.THIS TEMPORARY PROGRAM  SHOULD BE CANCELED.

THE KUHNS REPORT

LAS VEGAS- Hello America, and how is the world treating you?

Here we go again with restoring unemployment benefits. As I have stated in previous blogs, the Congress should not restore these benefits. The 13 weeks of benefits plus an additional 13 weeks as provided by the states is more than sufficient for the unemployed person. Six months to find a job is more than plenty. If the person can't find a job in 6 months there is something wrong. Either that person doesn't want a job or the person  set their sites on living off the system.

Folks, it is  fact that when a person is unemployed for over six months they begin to not look for work. I say there is no reason to support a group of people for years on end by giving them a benefit check. These people learn to live within that  amount of free monies and refuse to take meaningful employment. In my research dealing with the unemployed, especially those collecting long term benefits,  many of those people told me that they have given up looking for work. Others told me they could manage their life just fine on the benefits from the unemployment checks. Still other have said they go through the motions of looking for a job by filling out applications only for the sole purpose of receiving their unemployment checks.

People, the federal unemployment  benefits program was only supposed to be temporary but now years later we, the taxpayers, are subsidizing these unemployed people while they continue to collect years of benefits. That's WRONG. And, the Washington lawmakers continue to allow this faulty, inappropriate program to go forward. The cost to pay these benefits for only 3 months runs in excess of $25 million dollars. That money could be going to our poverty children, our ruined roads, bridges, faulty electrical grids that affect  most every city in the United States. Hell just in New York City alone the sewer pipes and plumbing beneath the city was built n the 1800's. The recent gas explosion in New York City that took out a number of apartment building causing injury, death and destruction should attest to that fact. Yet, Congress insists on supporting a special class of people. Go figure.

Congress says they are near an agreement to pay out these millions and allow these long term unemployed to again collect for THREE (3) to SIX (6) months, depending on who is  speaking and what side of the political aisle that Congress person is on.

I am totally against this federal fiasco. I believe it should have been shut down years ago. What is it with the Feds? Once they say they are putting a program in place that is TEMPORARY that program gets a life of it's own and goes on forever with the blessing of our idiot lawmakers.

I would suggest that if Congress in their mentally deficient  wisdom decides to pass this extended unemployment program they DO NOT make it retroactive which they have been saying they intend to do. I say if the  program is extended the renewed benefits begin he day it passes. I do not think these long term unemployed people should be receiving a lump sum in months of retroactive payments. That act is like throwing gasoline on the fire. That will give these chronic unemployed still another reason not to look for work. Their attitude will be "I have a wad of money in my pocket" and still can collect more for months, if not years.

I only hope that Congress wakes up and  faces reality and does not renew this unemployment extension. Better yet,  CANCEL and REPEAL this boondoggle. Again, 26 weeks of state unemployment benefits are sufficient for anyone. The unemployed will clearly know that they will have to find some type of gainful employment or look to relatives and family to support them. Good luck with that after a  couple of weeks living off relatives and family.- And, that's my opinion. Make your own decision. You decide.

NO MORE FEDERAL UNEMPLOYMENT EXTENSIONS-IT'S A SCAM

THE KUHNS REPORT

LAS VEGAS - Hello America, and how is the world treating you?

Harry Reid is still trying to pass an unemployment extension. The multi-BILLION dollar cost of the program is one that we taxpayers cannot afford.

As  mentioned in some of my previous blogs there are people out there that have been collecting unemployment for over two years. It appears many of these unemployed people do not want to work. If a person can't find a job within the state's 13 week unemployment  benefits payment and the additional 13 week extension there is something going on with that job seeker.

Folks, Senator Harry Reid and his buddies want to make the  unemployment payments retroactive to December. What is that? If an unemployment benefits package is passed it should not include months of retroactive benefits. That is wasted monies. It appears the unemployed has been surviving all these months and they clearly do not need a whooping check of retroactive benefits.

If Senator Reid gets his way this unemployment package will ding us working taxpayers approximately $13 BILLION dollars for a six (6) month extension of benefits.

Oh, and get this: Reid and his supporters want to allow people who are currently collecting Social Security disability benefits to also collect unemployment benefits. WOW! I submit that if a person is disabled and already collecting Social Security disability benefits- -how can they collect unemployment benefits if they  are in fact, UNABLE TO WORK?

I would suggest:
* All applicants be interviewed on a regular basis and determine as to why they can't find work.
* Determine if the applicant needs job training.
*If a person refuses any offer to take a job of any type of suitable work, they should be denied unemployment benefits.
* If he/she refuses to apply for any suitable work as referred by a state employment agency they should be refused unemployment benefits.
* No applicant that is already collecting Social Security disability benefits should be allowed to collect unemployment benefits. The rule should be: "Either/Or."

Folks, ever since this federal unemployment extension ( A TEMPORARY PROGRAM) was  started years ago we taxpayers have been supporting a whole new sub-class  of people. They collect unemployment benefits for years and learn to live within the income stream from those benefits and are  more than happy to go through life living on the unemployment income. In fact, it has been proven that many of these unemployed persons have actually given up looking for a job. They are happy with the government hand out and expect it.

Another fact, when the unemployment benefits were not renewed thousands of the unemployed people cried the blues saying they had no time to prepare for the cut off. Really? Every one of the unemployed people knew exactly when their unemployment checks would terminate. However they expect the government to continue the payments into eternity as a regular paycheck.

It is  a sad state of affairs when a group of people expect the government to continue to support them for years and years, if not indefinitely . Right now we have millions of people on the unemployment roles and many of these same people are collecting food stamps and welfare.

It is obvious that one person sees their neighbor gaming the system receiving benefits and decides they want that too. So they go on the same dole.

I urge the reader to look at some of the people collecting unemployment ,welfare benefits and food stamps. They show up wearing the latest name brand sneakers, Levi's, and clothes available out there. They drive up to the offices in Buick's, Cadillac's and expensive SUV's. I saw some driving a Mercedes Benz. And lets not forget to look at the cell phone these unemployed, welfare, food stamp people have glued to their ear while waiting to receive their check. Many of these  gaming the system have all those goodies and at home they enjoy the best cable (ALL THE PREMIUM CHANNELS) and high speed Internet connections available. It's all on us working stiffs, taxpayers dime.

Bottom line: I object to any  extensions of the federal unemployment program. Enough is enough. I think the unemployed person should be able to collect unemployment for the 13 weeks, with an extension of an additional 13 weeks from their state BUT after that nothing. PERIOD. If they know that they will run out of benefits after 26 weeks (6 months) they will go out and find a job. They will know they will  have to have a job in six months. That's more than fair.

In closing that 13 BILLION DOLLARS for another 6 month unemployment extension could go a long way fixing our roads bridges, our electrical grids and infrastructure across the country. - And, that's my opinion. Make your own decisions. You decide.

THE UKRAINE, CRIMEA VOTE SHOULD BE HONORED, EITHER WAY IT TURNS OUT.

THE KUHNS REPORT

LAS VEGAS- Hello America, and how is the world treating you?

The Ukraine annexation is Russia's and the Ukraine's business, not  the USA's.

A vote for the annexation is coming down and the USA has the audacity to say that if the vote doesn't go our way the United States and some allies will not recognize the vote. What?

For centuries our country has being saying that free elections is the only way but it appears that now a vote by Ukrainians has to go America's way or it will not be recognized.

We, the USA have been sticking our nose in other countries elections for years attempting to influence the final outcomes of those elections. It has to stop. But will it?

Our lap dog allies continue to carry the United States water and  fall in lock step with the United States  views and agree to back the United States stance because they are afraid to lose the millions and billions of dollars that are showered on them for their allegiance.

The United States has been buying loyalty from other world powers with our money so as to have those countries support what the United States administration and congress serve up.

When the United States claims that an election and/or vote by the people of another country should stand as the will of those people it is a joke. That's only lip service on the part of the United States. The people of the Ukraine should have the right to an up or down vote on the issue as to whether they want to be a part of Russia. If the vote shows that the Ukraine clearly wants to be a part of Russia that vote should  stand and we, the United States, should honor  the Ukrainians vote.

We have congressman and politicians here in the United States that love to instigate and stir the pot in situations around the world for their own interests and their political parties interest. That's sad. Shame on them.

In the instance of this vote on the Crimean  vote as to whether they wish to be  a part of Russia I am siding with Putin.  All in all Putin has been more on top of world affairs that Obama has ever been. This Ukrainian issue concerns his country, not ours. -  And, that's my opinion. Make your own decisions. You decide.

SOME TELEVISION OFFERS MORE TROUBLE THAN THEY'RE WORTH

THE KUHNS REPORT

LAS VEGAS-Hello America, and how is the world treating you?

Boy, a bad experience with one of these TV offers you see constantly on television.

I went to the website and called the  800 number 1-800-828-5689 to place an order. The company Tele Brands only had a voice recording---NO REAL PERSON to assist. The voice asked me for payment info FIRST and then it wanted me to spell out my name and address to leave on the recording.

After that , the recorded voice went on and on and on - - -and ON,  requesting that I order other items. The recorded voice presented numerous offers asking me to punch number 2 on my phone or say "no" as  each offer was presented. When I thought the order process was over the recording asked me to spell out mt email address and leave it on the recording AND THEN the automated voice began to offer coupons and other stupid items asking me to give an "OK",  wanting me to sign up.  WOW! I hung up the phone and ended the call before the offers for the  coupons began in depth.

My thoughts on these television TV market people is: I will never order an item off of TV again because the entire order process for the small $10.00 item plus shipping and handling took forever to complete AND there was "no way" I could stop the order  while the recorded voice was handling it.

I say, if the company is too CHEAP to have a live person take the order over the phone and answer questions a person may have about the product then the are not worth dealing with.

I would suggest that before any person orders these television offers they determine if there is a live person. This nonsense about a recorded voice taking an order and then having to sit and listen to additional offer after offer for other items is inappropriate. And, that's my opinion. Make your own decisions. You decide.

THE ARIZONA RELIGIOUS FREEDOM BILL SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN VETOED

THE KUHNS REPORT

LAS VEGAS- Hello America, and how is the world treating you?

The Arizona legislature passed a bill (which many labeled-anti-gay) and Governor Jan Brewer vetoed the bill. WOW! All the bill did was allow restaurants to choose who they wished to serve in their establishment. I say there was nothing in the bill that was anti-gay. But because of political correctness and certain groups pressure Gov. Brewer vetoed the bill.

The  bills wording consisted of small clarifications of Arizona's "Religious Freedom Restoration Act" which has been on the books for about 15 years. In fact, it was  constructed on the model of the federal act that was passed with enormous bipartisan support in the 1990's. That law was signed into effect by President Bill Clinton.

People and news media said the bill was  a discrimination piece of work. Others said it was anti-gay but even the late Sen. Ted Kennedy supported the religious freedom statute. that this bill was based on.

Many critics felt that it was improper for someone to have moral objections to homosexuality and even gay marriage. Like the Arizona bill there have been many small business people in other states that wanted to decline service to gay customers. They believed that it was against their religious beliefs. Some examples: There was a baker in Oregon that refused to make a wedding cake for a gay couple, a photographer in New Mexico refused to take wedding pictures at a gay wedding, a florist refused to sell flowers to a gay wedding, etc. - -

How offensive this may have seemed to the gay community is their problem - -no one else. I say the answer to their objections is to go to another baker, florist, photographer - -whatever. The free market place would determine who got the business. Other businesses could advertise that they cater to all couples. There is more than enough business out there to cater ti everyone whether gay, straight or anything in between.

When it comes to conducting business I would think it would be proper to have an open society to make their ow decisions as to  who that business wanted to cater too and proper for a customer to go to a business that welcomed them.

It;s not unusual for one person freedoms to be trampled on by others. For example, there was a high school in Northern California that told students who were wearing T-shirts with the American flag imprinted on them to turn the shirts inside our or they would be sent home from school. The students were wearing the T-Shirts on Cinco De Mayo day, a celebrated day for Mexicans.  On that day/the Hispanic/Mexican students were coming to school with Mexican Flags and wearing T-Shirts displaying the Mexican flag so as to proclaim their support of Mexico and their Mexican heritage. But, the students wearing the T-Shirts with the American flag proclaiming their American heritage were told to turn their T-Shirts inside out or be evicted from the campus. Can you image?
One group was allowed to carry a countries flag and wear T-Shirts with that countries flag emboldened on it while the other group was told  they could not do the same.

If  I were running the school I would have allowed both groups to wear the T-Shirts. Both groups  could be proud of their heritage and go through the day going to and from class. Hell, the kids go  to classes every other day of the year together so why should  school administrators choose sides and penalize one of the groups? Thus, the school leaders were the problem- - not the students. But, my point being - -there's room for every viewpoint. But in the case of the Arizona bill it appears there were and is high-moralistic individuals and groups that support gay-marriage and are clearly opposed to anyone that does not agree with their views--these types have tunnel vision. They think their view is the only one that counts. So, Gov. Brewer folded under the pressure and gave in. Result- her veto of the bill.

Remember the day in the not too distant past when many small businesses across this land had a sign in their establishments stating: :WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE. That is the way it should be today. Folks, it is their business and their right to refuse service.

My thought: The  bitching against this bill was just a bunch of groups and news media seeking headlines. The bill was straightforward and had no bigotry or discrimination nor any anti-gay language. It should not have been vetoed by Gov. Brewer. - And,  that's my opinion. Make  your own decisions. You decide.

OBAMA AND CONGRESS: WORLD HYPOCRITES

THE KUHNS REPORT

LAS VEGAS

Hello America, and how is the world treating you?

Here we go again. The Obama administration trying to stick their nose i another countries business. Obama and his administration is a hypocrite, He says to Putin, of Russia that he is against any country interfering with the sovereignty of any other country. Really?

Lets look at the acts of the United States regarding the sovereignty of other countries. Remember IRAQ? The United States made a preemptive strike and invaded the country. Remember Afghanistan? We invaded that country and fought an 11 year war and we are still there. Also, at the same time we had US military fighting in Pakistan fighting in a covert war.

Talking about invasions - -what about all of the USA DRONE strikes in other countries which killed hundreds, if not thousands of innocent civilians.

Now Obama tells Putin. There will be consequences if he uses military in the Ukraine. Come on! Obama tries to  interject the United States in the business of most every other country on the planet - - forcing the people to accept  the ways of the United States. He pays most countries off with billions of dollars to accept the will of  America.

I say, let Putin alone and allow him make his own decisions on how to handle the Ukraine situation. Obama's attitude is one that says: "Do as I say, don't do as I do." That's bad policy folks. The world would be much better off if Obama and Congress would stop interfering with other countries internal problems and trying to force our way of life down their throats. Most other countries around the world have their own customs and culture and they clearly resent the United States attempt to convert then to America's way of life. And, that's my opinion. Make your own decisions. You decide.
