LAWMAKERS:FIRE ALL THESE GREEDY TEACHERS WALKING OUT ON THE KIDS.

THE KUHNS REPORT

LAS VEGAS- Hello America, and is the world treating you?

The teachers unions are at it again. Hundreds of teachers continue to walk out of the classroom in Oklahoma City. They always use the excuse "it's for the kids". Are you kidding me? The truth is the strikes are ONLY for them. Just them. It looks like implied extortion against  the state.

This money grab was started  by the teachers  going on strike in West Virginia walking out for nine days and winning a 5 percent wage increase. The governor of West Virginia should have held fast on the original offer he gave the West Virginia teachers.  They should have either accepted the  increase that was offered by the Governor and given the choice of returning to the classroom or be fired.

Following the Governor's cave in to the union and the West Virginia win for more salary Oklahoma, Kentucky, Arizona and other states jumped on the bandwagon and want to leave the kids education slide by not showing in class to teach. Hell, Arizona teachers are DEMANDING a 20 percent increase in wages. But the teachers in Oklahoma said that's not good enough.  They said, "WE WANT MORE". Governor Fallin signed legislation granting 15 to 18 percent wage increases for the teachers--but again,  the teachers acting like bully's on a play and a bunch of out of control adolescent tweens said, "WE WANT MORE".Some even suggested a 50 percent pay increase. WHAT?

Average teacher salary in Oklahoma is about $45,276.00. Believe me when I say there are a lot of people working in the United States for much less each year. And, they don't have the benefits that the teachers enjoy. A few teachers from Oklahoma that were interviewed on television said, " I have to work two jobs to get by. NEWS FLASH! There are thousands and thousands of people working two jobs, even three jobs to get by. So what are these teachers whining about? If they didn't have the teachers job they would be worse off and have to work two jobs in another profession or occupation. What makes these teachers different that others who work to get by. The answer--the teachers and the teachers unions across America feel they are "entitled."

The  teachers and their unions across America always bargain for  lucrative pension and benefits with annual  wage increases in salary. I submit the teachers across  this nation, because of their powerful union connections, are much better off that average Joe and Jane Doe who are grinding out a living, trying to survive and put food on the table. These everyday people don't have the pension and retirement benefits that the teachers enjoy and will never see them in their lifetime.

My suggestion to the teachers climbing on this money grab--you already have a job. enjoy it. You all knew what the job and salary was when you took it. You knew what the benefits and pension was when you took the job. You knew what the annual increase in you salary would be." Note: In the private sector you would not enjoy an annual salary boost in pay". People working everyday jobs without a powerful union work years without seeing a pay raise. So, teachers, live with the choice you yourself made, or quit.  Work in another occupation and  then see how well you really had it working as a teacher.

It was a sad day when the  states let teachers form a union. They, like all other public employees and their unions are out of control. These unions only  push their state to the brink of bankruptcy trying to satisfy their greedy demands for  an always higher annual wage, free or near free health benefits and  over the top pension and retirement. Some states did go bankrupt because of the public employees union demands.

I suggest the governors and state legislators REFUSE to give in to the teachers demands. If  they do not want to work for the salary and benefits they agreed to from the get go and APPRECIATE the  annual raises they already receive and those the states offered.  LET THEM WALK and possibly quit. Let them see what they will do without a job. Lawmakers, people are let go or fired from their jobs each and  every day across this country. They will go to work for someone else. I say let them do that. Lawmakers and politicians-- REMEMBER, president Ronald Reagan? He fired each and every air traffic controller in one fell swoop and hired others. And guess what? The  country moved on  without a ripple. And, the fired employees squealed and griped about not having a job. The president called their bluff.

I would like to see the lawmakers and politicians stand their ground against the unions for once in their life instead of being afraid of  offending the union and losing votes in an election. I would further suggest that the lawmakers tell the teachers to return to the class and work for the salary which the state put into effect. If  these greedy teachers refuse, FIRE THEM. There will be people standing in line to take their jobs.

If the teachers do not want to go into the classroom and teach the children, they shouldn't be in the  teaching profession. And lawmakers, how long do you think  it will be before the loving parents of these children who are not being taught get fed up with the teachers over the top demands? When the parents kids are being short-changed you can bet they will show their anger against the teachers.

Teachers, here's another note for you---the poor senior citizens in this country living on Social Security failed to get an increase in their social security for  three years in a row awhile back. Then when they did get and increase--one year they saw about 1.7 percent, another year, only a 2.7 percent increase. So, why don't you teachers and public employees stop screaming for 5, 6, 7, 8 percent pay increases (and now demands for 20 and 50 percent?) Stop holding lawmakers, and everyday citizens of the state  hostage. Your pay comes out of our pocket. Remember, times have changed. Everyday people do not get these large percentage increases in their wages. So , my question? What makes you teachers so entitled to what others will never see in their lifetime? And, that's my opinion. Make your own decision. You decide.
