HIGH GAS PRICES-LAWMAKERS AND BIG OIL ENJOY A LEWINSKY RELATIONSHIP
THE KUHNS REPORT
LAS VEGAS- Hello America, and how is the world treating you?
Here we go again. Gas Prices at all time highs. What a rip off. The average gas price in California today is $4.668, a gallon. Some places in California are charging $6.00 per gallon. In fact, a gasoline station in Long Beach, California had a price of $6.65 a gallon.
I have been preaching for years that the gasoline market was being illegally manipulated but no one would listen. At the time of my complaint gasoline was selling for $1.34 a gallon. I wrote my representatives in Congress complaining but the politicians response was, with a boiler-plate pre-written letter saying "there is no manipulation of gasoline prices." However, it was amusing that a few months after my complaint Congress called all of the oil company execs before Congress to explain the reason for high gasoline prices. Those hearing turned out to be a joke. All of those Washington lawmakers ranted and raved before the cameras so they could get their fifteen minutes of face time on TV and then they sent the oil magnates home. The same thing happened a few years later when gas prices rose again. Congress has held two or three hearing and feigned outrage over the last decade but they never, ever do anything to fix the problem.
Hell, when George Bush was running for re-election he was caught being told by the Saudi Royal family that in order to get him elected for a second term OPEC would raise gas prices and then a few weeks before the election they would lower them so the people here in the country would think he was the one responsible for the lower gasoline prices. Manipulation? You bet.
Mark my words people - -I predict gasoline prices will fall right before election day. But I also predict that once the elections are over the gasoline prices will rise again.
Over the past two decades the oil titans heading up Exxon, Shell and all the other big companies have been playing the shell game of raising prices by fifty, sixty cents or more and then, when people complain the prices drop, BUT only a penny or two. The result -- the oil companies have a new low base. Example, gas was $2.00 gallon, it rose to $2.80 a gallon, but when the oil companies drop the price a few pennies, now they have a new low base of $2.80. Then when they raise it again,- - example $3.25, and then lower it to $3.20, that is their new low base. The oil companies have been playing this game consistently for decades until now people think that if they pay $3.50 cents a gallon they are getting a deal. The sad part is the lawmakers in Washing know and can see what the oil companies are doing by fudging with the price per gallon but since the oil companies buy off both Republicans and Democrats in Congress, they turn a blind eye. Remember these sleazy politicians get their gas paid for on our taxpayer dime and I would venture to say that most if not all of the lawmakers in Washington are at least a millionaire. If they had to pay for their gasoline to fill their vehicles, they CAN afford it.
There is no doubt in my mind that the oil companies want to get the price up to $6.00 and $10.00, per gallon. These continued price spikes and hikes which are followed by the one or two penny drop will continue until the people in this country take to the streets with peaceful protests demanding that the government take action against the entire oil industry.
A suggestion: The government could nationalize some gas stations. Have the government stations set a fair price and the competition with those big oil idiots would cause prices to fall like a rock. Why not? Obama bailed out the auto industry. If the government can run an auto industry why not run some gas stations. Other countries set gasoline prices. A good example is Mexico.
How crazy is this? We taxpayers subsidize these idiots while they make $50 and $60 billion dollars in profit EVERY quarter. What are the lawmakers in Washington doing about the problem? Nothing. A few are asking for an investigation into the matter alleging gas price manipulation. Rather than taking direct action the Washington is again calling for a hearing. Come on! Another hearing to have the Congress shout empty threats is a continuation of the "lets pacify the public, like we understand and are doing something."
The political game also continues. Just ten minutes ago while writing this commentary a news person on the radio announced that the administration said that gasoline prices will come down" by election day."Hear me folks - -they will drop right before election day.
The administration blames the high prices on summer-blending of gas and refinery shutdowns for repairs. That's a bunch of crap people. This is the United States. If the refineries are in disrepair the government should mandate that the refineries have scheduled maintenance which should be inspected by the government regulators on a regular basis. Doesn't it worry the citizens that all of a sudden each and every year the refineries shut down for repairs on each coast. Hasn't the administration and these fat cat oil companies heard of staggering maintenance and repairs so while one refinery is being serviced the other refineries around the country can still provide gasoline without
interruption? And the other excuse by the oil companies saying that there is not enough refineries. Simple solution. BUILD more refineries. The government should also mandate that there be sufficient refineries scattered throughout the United States. How hard is it to have the oil companies build an additional two or three refineries on the West coast, an additional two or three on the East coast and one or two additional refineries on the North and South regions of our borders? No one can argue that these money sucking oil companies cannot afford it. They have more than enough funds to build additional refineries and clearly enough monies to keep the refineries in excellent repair.
I say the only thing stopping the additional refineries from being brought on line is because the oil companies doesn't want them and they use their lobbying people to stuff millions of dollars into the pockets of Washington politicians to see it their way.
Folks, we here in the United States shouldn't be paying more than $2.00 a gallon for gasoline.Remember, when Obama took office gas was priced at $1.34 a gallon. Now it's costing $6.65 in Long Beach, California.
It does not take a rocket scientist to see the political aspect of the price of gasoline. The same gasoline we are paying $3.87 and $6.00 a gallon IS the same gasoline we had at $1.34 a gallon. It certainly hasn't changed. It comes from the same place it has been coming from since the early nineteen hundreds. I recall paying $0.18 cents a gallon for gasoline 1962 and that gas in no different that the gasoline we are now pumping into our gas tanks. The only thing that has changed is the corruption and greed in politics. It is no secret that the lawmakers in Washington have a Lewinsky type relationship with the big oil honchos. That has got to stop. We need "people power" to stop this government scam. The people recently showed their power when the credit card companies tried to screw us. There was a change. Why can't we do that again? Let the lawmakers know enough is enough.
If these out of touch politicians would address the bread and butter issues like gasoline prices, high food prices, keeping jobs in the U.S., and actually creating shovel ready jobs by building our bridges, schools, highway's, infrastructure and electrical grids this economy would be rocking and humming along.- And, that's opinion. Make your own decisions. You decide.

OBAMA DID NOT EARN A SECOND TERM-&-
THE OUT-DATED DEBATE FORMAT HAS TO BE CHANGED
THE KUHNS REPORT
LAS VEGAS - Hello America, and how is the world treating you?
First, I would like to say I voted for Obama. That said, watching Obama's recent first of three presidential debates was like watching a car crash along side a highway. This guy shouldn't be president for a second term. He not only appeared out of it as if he were somewhere on another planet but his answers were the same old, tired, regurgitated stump speech gobbly-gook. How many times can a person hear, "we need a level playing field, everyone needs a fair shot, a fair shake." Christ, that is the same old babble of yesteryear. He uses it in every speech he makes around the country. We, the American people have heard all of this before.
Obama did not have any original ideas to add to the debate. He was like a parrot spouting the same old lines. He might as well have said: "Polly wants a cracker." He is said to be an eloquent speaker. I was expecting much more from this intelligent man during a face-to-face battle.
I submit that if Obama really wanted to receive a second term as President of these United States he should have shown clearly and deliberately, with enthusiasm and knowledge that he could stand up to a second term. He did none of that.
Also, these presidential debate formats is obsolete and ready for the trash bin. The format was originated back i the 1960's and they do the candidates no favors. The moderator in this debate should have been sent out to pasture years ago. He may have been a good moderator at one time but PLEASE!!! He let the debate run amok. He had no control over the debate. He allowed the candidates to run over time frames continually. I would say this entire debate format should be given its last rites.
I would suggest that the two candidates be put on a stage, sitting at a table across from one another and allowed o go at it head-to-head discussing different issues. No moderator. Instead, just a person acting as a referee to keep them on point and to prevent them from standing on a soap box and evading the issues of debate.
Folks, a debate is just that, a debate, usually between two people. Each participant has ample opportunity to present their side but this Mickey-Mouse moderated, "I'll ask the question's and you will have two or three minutes to respond" format "IS NOT a DEBATE." It is a dog and pony show.-And, that is my opinion. Make your own decisions. You decide.

THE KUHNS REPORT
Vice-President Joe Biden Comes Across As An Angry Man
LAS VEGAS- Hello America, and how is the world treating you?
Vice-President Joe Biden is an angry bird. Over the past few months I have observed him when he speaks to crowds around the country. He fails to speak in a civil, moderate tone, instead, he looks and sounds angry, always yelling or screaming. If Biden is trying to get a point across it is not one of connecting to a crowd. I submit there is just so much anger, bitterness and and divisive words a person can tolerate.
One would think this guy wakes up angry everyday. I think it would behoove Biden to practice giving speeches in an everyday conversational format. He clearly comes across as an angry old man. He does not do Obama any favors with his constant angry attitude.-- And, that's my opinion. Make your own decisions. You decide.

Mayor Bloomberg is Wrecking New York City.
16 Ounce Sodas? My Advice- BUY ONE, GET ONE FREE.
THE KUHNS REPORT
LAS VEGAS-Hello America, and how is the world treating you?
The mayor of New York City is up to his nanny, " I'll take care of you" games-AGAIN. Now he wants to restrict a persons choice as to how much soda they want to drink. Michael Bloomberg now wants all restaurants, fast food, convenience stores, Ball Parks, entertainment gatherings, etc., to only sell sodas and sweet drinks in 16 ounce, or less, containers. Wow! Where is this idiot coming from? Many people enjoy a soda in a 32 or 64 ounce cup. He and his "in the pocket" City Health Department officials banned smoking, then it was trans fats, then calorie counts, and now he and his cohorts dictate how much a person can drink.
Where is the New Yorker's residents outrage? His millions of dollars bought himself a new term in office and at the same time bought him politicians and lawmakers to do his bidding. Now New Yorker's, like sheep, follow him and go along with his crazy ideas.
This country was founded on a person's liberty and freedom. Freedom of choice is a biggie, yet the citizens of New York allow this looney-tune take away their freedom of choice, little by little by declaring "It's for your own good," "It's a health issue."He says, "What I'm doing is good for you." Folks, that is a bunch of gobbly-gook. People can make their own decisions. They have been doing it for decade, even before Bloomberg was born.and the world didn't stop or come to an end. Life went on very well before Bloomberg came on the scene. His nanny state attitude is a detriment to every citizen in the city of New York, the state and the country as a whole. The nation can do well without these fanatical do-gooders.
This recent Bloomberg fiasco of restricting a persons soda/soft drink consumption will have a large economic detrimental effect on both the large soft drink corporations, distributors, various companies and the small business owner. If it were me and I owned a corporation like Coke, Pepsi or even a company like Slurpee, I would sue Bloomberg and his Health Department zombies that follow his bidding.
Hell, this Mayor comes up with crazy ideas to take away a persons "right to choose" and then calls up his Health Department goons who walk in lock step with him, who are beholden to him and they rationalize the ban or law as one that is a health problem.
People, here is here my suggestion to each and every restaurant, convenience store, McDonald's, Wendy's, Jack in the Box, Burger King and every other fast food place in the city. - - - Offer a "BUY ONE, GET ONE FREE." or "BUY ONE, get the second for a PENNY or DIME. So the result: The customer buys Bloomberg's 16 ounce soda but they wind up with a 32 ounce, since the second is FREE or at a very nominal cost.
A question to ponder- What happens if a customer walks into a grocery store or convenience store and buys a 64 ounce bottle of Coke, Pepsi, 7 - Up, etc, and has his or her own drinking cup, even a 16 ounce cup? Is Bloomberg going to confiscate the 64 ounce bottle of soda telling the person they can only drink 16 ounces of the soda? I wouldn't put it past him.
The BUY ONE, GET ONE free offer would allow the customer to indulge their desires. The only down side I can see with this idea is that the customer will be carrying more than one cup. Big Deal. At least they would be getting the amount of soda/soft drink they want.
And, finally, a suggestion to the citizens of New York City. Throw this bum out on the street. Use peaceful protest and don't allow this small minded man who has a small mined view of freedom trample your liberties and freedom of choice. If New Yorker's do not put a muzzle on this crazy person, where will it stop? You won't be allowed to eat greasy foods? Will he ban fried chicken, burgers, pizza? Don't forget the sweets - -pies, cakes, candy, ice cream, etc.
Bloomberg is the problem, not the people of New York City. Let him look out for his own health and put whatever he wants in his and his families body and let us people do the same. - And, that's my opinion. Make your own decisions. You decide.

Chicago Teachers and All Public Employee's Should Be Let Go. Start Over Lawmakers.
THE KUHNS REPORT
LAS VEGAS
Hello America, and how is the world treating you?
The Chicago Teachers union is nothing but a bunch of greedy public employees who are always trying to scam the system. Folks, the average teacher in Chicago already earns a very generous $76,000 a year, plus all the goodies and benefits that no one in the private sector can ever hope to enjoy.
Just one benefit worth mentioning is the teachers have been grabbing a guaranteed 4 to 7 percent cost of living each year. People! No one in the private sector is "guaranteed" a 4% to 7% bump in salary each and every year just for showing up to work everyday.. Christ, even the senior citizens on social security who worked all their life had their COLA's cut from 3 percent a year to 1.2 percent a year and for two years did not receive any cost of living increases. The hard working roofers, carpet layers, waiter's and waitresses, or the 7-11 employees, the sales people in department stores does not ever see a guaranteed cost of living increase in salary. No hard working employee in the private sector is guaranteed job security, let alone cost of living increases of four to seven percent. Those in the private sector are just glad to have a job making $20,000, $30,000 and if lucky, $40,000 a year.
The banks don't even pay 1% interest on peoples savings and these idiot teachers want the private sector taxpayers who are struggling to keep their head above water and put food on the table for their own family to pay them $76,000 a year and in addition, boost their teachers salary another four percent a year. These teachers and all public employees pander to the lawmaker's and arrange union contracts that rip off the average working John and Jane Doe to provide themselves with lavish salaries, cost of living increases, free medical for them and their families and an over generous pension until they die. GREED, GREED, GREED is the name of the game for these public employee unions. How much is too much?
If I were Mayor of Chicago I would immediately void all union contracts and start from scratch and hire people with an annual salary like the private sector workers have to depend on. If the city has to file for bankruptcy to VOID out the union contracts, DO IT.
Have the teachers then work for a reasonable wage like everyone else breaking their back to get by. Cut out the guaranteed cost of living increases, merit pay, free or near free medical for the teachers and their families for life and as to pensions, the Mayor and the state should have ALL public employees put into a 401(k) retirement plan like the average employee.
Folks, no one in the private sector is guaranteed anything other than a quoted yearly salary and possibly a weeks paid vacation and if the employee doesn't perform and do the job they are fired. Why should these public employees be guaranteed job security, wages, pensions, etc.
My suggestion to the Mayor of Chicago. - - - Do not buckle to these unions. Re-work all union contracts and if the teachers and other public employee's doesn't like the terms, hell, fire them, let them quit and go get a job elsewhere. They will soon learn how hard it is out there in a work force where there is no guarantees. There will be people standing in line for their jobs.
I suggest it was a sad day when lawmakers in states across the nation allowed public employees to unionize. These public unions use their power to influence the politicians and promise to support them in office if, in fact, the lawmaker keeps giving them fat salaries, job security, medical and pensions. I don't know about you folks but I have enough trouble finding ways to pay for my own families medical bills . I surly do not want to pay for all of these public employees and their families medical bills for their lifetime.
And, that's my opinion. Make your own decisions. You decide.

WAKE UP LAWMAKER'S- LEGALIZE MARIJUANA
THE KUHNS REPORT
LAS VEGAS- Hello America, and how is the world treating you?
Legalize Drugs: I think there is a good argument to legalize drugs, especially ,Marijuana. Let me start out by saying many, many lawmakers and the administration had said: "We are losing the war on drugs." And, my view is - - -" we are."
Folks, over 70 percent of all illegal drugs coming into the U.S.A. is marijuana. If only that drug, marijuana, was legalized tomorrow it would bring a screeching halt to the gangs on the streets of our country fighting for sale and distribution of marijuana. Second, it would stop many deaths, some,( was our brave customs agents) on our Southern border..The Mexican narco-gangs are so brazen they actually cross our borders and shoot it out with out agents as they attempt to bring tons and tons of marijuana into the United States in one shipment. If marijuana were legalized in this country the incentive for the crooks would be gone. A legal product is a "no-go" for the gangs and criminals-NO PROFITS.
If marijuana were legalized and taxed like cigarettes, alcohol, and other products it would bring billions of dollars into state and Federal coffers. It would prevent kids being recruited into the sale of the drug. You don't see kids standing on the corner selling cigarettes and booze. Why? Because it is legal.
When something is illegal, that is when you will find both adults and children selling it. One word, "PROHIBITION". When booze was illegal, there were hundreds of killings a year, all over the country.
We had Mafia and organized crime. When alcohol was banned, the criminal gangs run rampant, slaughtering people in the streets. However, when it became legal, the murder rate dropped to nearly zero for those involved in the illegal alcohol rackets.
Other countries have legalized all type's of drugs, not just marijuana, and it did not throw the nation into ruin. In fact Portugal recently decriminalized every drug, including- - opium, cocaine, crack and other drugs. Guess what? The number of addicts and drug abusers declined. Me, I am just advocating decriminalizing MARIJUANA in the USA.
Another plus in legalizing marijuana would the billions of dollars saved by incarcerating millions of people each year. And, the big, big plus would be the billions this country would save on paying law enforcement agents and their agencies for fighting a losing battle with marijuana use. The law enforcement agencies could then give their time and attention to the hard drugs that are ravaging this country.
There are times I think our administration and lawmakers in this country do not want to get a handle on the drug war. It appears they want to keep thousands of law-enforcement people on the job, spending billions of dollars on salaries, specialized equipment, conferences, meetings, etc., for their own reasons while admitting that we have lost the drug war. I submit, that is insane and stupid. The administration, politicians and lawmakers continue to pump all those dollars that are needed elsewhere into a lost war and expect different results.
If these idiot lawmakers would realize that if they would legalize just "one drug", Marijuana, it would make a big dent in the so-called drug war and at the same time bring in billions of dollars in tax revenue.
Come On! 70% of all illegal drugs being brought into this country is marijuana and our lawmakers close their eyes to the fact that they can benefit by controlling the sale and distribution. How dumb is that?
And, that's my opinion. Make your own decisions. You decide.
