Secret Service Director Sullivan Gives G-Men Slap on Wrist
THE KUHNS REPORT
________________
LAS VEGAS:
Hello America, and how is the world treating you?
Three Secret Service agents were disciplined. But not enough. Again, it's another example of the government protecting their own. The agencies director, Mark Sullivan issued a slap on the wrist as far as I'm concerned. Was it punishment to fit the crime? No way, director Sullivan.
Yes, the three agents were ousted but two of them were allowed to leave the agency in a way that will allow them to go out and be rehired by other agencies. That shouldn't be. My view, all "eleven agents" should have been fired, IMMEDIATELY.
One supervising agent was allowed to retire. I say, it shouldn't have happen. This guy can now received a large, lucrative pension that we taxpayers are on the hook for. We'll be paying him for the rest of his life. And don't forget, we'll have to pay for his health care and other benefits that the Feds lavish on their employees. Plus, he can now go out and get another job in law-enforcement and continue his bad behavior. On the other hand, if the agent was "fired", he could have lost all of his retirement goodies and benefits and it would be a matter of record when a prospective employer and/or agency checked his background. A slap on the wrist for this agent by the Secret Service ? You bet!
A second agent was allowed to resign. This man can also go out and get a job with another agency and have no mention of his misdeeds anywhere in his record. When asked why he left his last job all he has to say is "I resigned." What a joke.
The third agent was fired for cause. Hooray? Finally, a firing. There are a lot of people in Congress and across the country that believe all eleven agents should be fired, which includes one presidential candidate, Mitt Romney. And, he's right. The firings should have been undertaken as soon as the men were recalled back to the states. These federal agents had violated a number of rules and regulations that was a firing offense. Fast, swift justice should have been meted out then and there. Instead the Congress people who pander to special interests decided to have a dog and pony "see me on television" hearing.
We taxpayers shouldn't have to be paying large pensions to these corrupt, drunken agents. They should have been fired and all benefits of the job taken away.
Again, Obama, the administration and Congress are playing games with us taxpayers leaving us to pay the tab while they cover for the federal employees. Shame on them. Kudos to Romney for saying he would have fired the agents. Too bad he isn't president now. Justice would have been served.
As for the ten military personnel that were involved in this sorid mess. Punishment should be reduction in rank, a bad conduct discharge and the loss of all of future military benefits.
I said it before and I'll say it again, when other government agents or military personnel see that severe and swift punishment is handed out for wrongdoing they will think twice before committing such acts. No one wants to lose their jobs, positions and pensions and I suggest that if the morons know that is the price they had to pay, they wouldn't participate in wrongdoing. And, that's my opinion. Make your own decisions. You decide

Federal Agents Refuse to Pay Their Prostitute. Our Money at Work Folks.
THE KUHNS REPORT
________________
LAS VEGAS:
Hello America, and how is the world treating you?
Another government boondoggle. Our government money is being spent by the United States Secret Service on prostitutes. Wow! These federal agents, at least eleven of them was tasked to fly to South America to set up security for President Obama. However, idle hands make for idle, stupid minds. Rather, than take care of the plan and coordinate security with the foreign government these idiots decided to party in sleazy nightclubs, getting snockered and down and out drunk, according to employees of the shabby, low class club. They then hired a number of prostitutes and whisk them back to their rooms at the El Caribe hotel.
And like any sex crazed, trolling John's on the street, at least two of the Secret Service agents tried to stiff the prostitute out of a $50.00 tab after they enjoyed her services throughout the night. They refused pay. What cheapskates. These secret service agents had class - -BUT, it was all fourth class.
To his credit, the director of the Secret Service acted swiftly and recalled the drunken revelers back to the states and replaced them with a new crew of agents. Folks, this is how our tax money is spent. These agents and all other "public employees" have the attitude that they are an entitled group that can fleece and spend our money for their travels, vacations and conventions without any thought to looking out for the taxpayer.
If it were me, and I was the boss of a company or business and my employees neglected and ignored their job duties that they were expected to carry out with diligence and competence, they would be gone, history, FIRED on the spot. I would tell them to find employment elsewhere telling them the gravy train was over. In this case Obama is the boss. He should "immediately "fire" these eleven federal agents. But instead what does he do? He calls for an investigation and says he will wait to see. Wait and see? What? They clearly did the crime and they should do the time. That being - -FIRED. No second chances and certainly no soft slap on the wrist. These people do not deserve to be agents and allowed to draw an over the top salary, lucrative benefits and retirement monies and pensions. It is as clear as the nose on his face. These agents were literally caught with their pants down. In fact, witnesses stepped forward telling what actually had occurred. Whatever happened to "the buck stops here? " With a swipe of a pen, Obama could have had these guys off the job and out the door within hours after receiving word of their indiscretions. But, no! Politics comes first.
Remember, years ago when the federal employee Air Traffic Controls got out of hand, President Reagan didn't take any crap. He fired all of the air traffic controller's in the country, on the spot, and hired all new people. I submit President Obama can do the same thing and fire them instead of having Congress have a dog and pony show at playing to investigate the situation just to get their mugs before the cameras.
I suggest that if president Obama would have immediately taken decisive "ACTION" and fired all of the agents, the matter would have been resolved then and there. Further you can bet that any other Secret Service agent even contemplating hiring a hooker, drinking booze until they were drunk and being a down right moron would think twice knowing that their actions would be cause for IMMEDIATE dismissal.
People, based on these secret service agents blatant actions I would guess that the Secret Service agents had did these things before. I suspect that these and others in the agency adopted this culture as a right of passage. It was so easy for them as they openly partied it up, became loud and obnoxious and topped the evening off with whore-mongering. I have no doubt that these federal agents were predisposed to do what they did.
Like the GSA, the Secret Service is using our money as their own private piggy bank. For example, one of the high ranking administrator's at GSA, Jeff Neely, spent $823,000 on a junket to Las Vegas. for his federal employee's. Christ, over $2,000 a night for a suite at the hotel. Can you believe it? Our money. This loser also told his piggy federal employees : "let's spend it while we got it and can do it." The culture of the Federal government at work folks - - - Yet when Neely was questioned about the matter by Congress he refused to answer any questions, he took the Fifth, and didn't show up the next day for questioning. That is why these lame hearing are only a kabuki dance for the politicians pandering for votes. Neely and every employee that attended the conference in Las Vegas should have been "fired", on the spot when this scam came to light. I say, that is the only way other public employees will get the message that when they scam, cheat, steal, etc., they will LOSE THEIR JOB - -no if, and, or but. Once they have to pound the pavement looking for a real job they'll have a different outlook on how hard it is to survive in the real world. - And, that's my opinion. Make up your own mind, you decide.

GSA Scandal-Outrageous-Fire All Who Attended
THE KUHNS REPORT
________________
LAS VEGAS:
Hello America, and how is the world treating you?
The government blows over $823,000 of our taxpayer money on a junket to Las Vegas. The idiots at the General Services Administration even video taped themselves in this fiasco. Christ, a mind reader, costing $3200.00 was hired to entertain for these greedy, lazy, drunken public employees. I venture to say anyone could hire a mind reader for only a few hundred dollars. The GSA employees were so piggish they spent $6,000 just for sushi. They also spent hundreds of dollars per plate of food. And booze, wow! One female employee , one of the lushes on the video was bragging how much she liked the alcohol. Others in the video talked about how they enjoyed wasting taxpayer money for their own pleasures. It should be noted also that the GSA sent an official out to Las Vegas at a cost of at least $100,000 just to scout out the the luxury vacation that they dubbed a training seminar.
People, this kind of extravagance should never, ever have occurred and then found out two years after the fact. Where's the accountability? In the private sector, on most any job, if one employee or a number of employees are scheduled for a training seminar, it includes the name of each employee scheduled to attend, the cost of lodging and meals and travel for each employee. That information goes to the company controller or financial officer FOR APPROVAL. There is no controller, financial officer or boss of any company that I'm aware of that would approve forty dollars for one shrimp on a plate or over a hundred dollars for a plate of food for breakfast, lunch or dinner. And you could be sure that the company would question a cost of $3200.00 for a mind readers act. The entire planned , (Ha, ha) training seminar should have been denied by the managers, supervisors and the administrators as the request went up the chain of command for such a trip. Who gave the okay for this trip? Who's name(s) or initials and dates were on the paperwork as it was being approved? There shouldn't have been any lag time from 2008 to 2010 for someone in authority to see that the cost of the trip was over $800,000.00.
I would think any company boss or any reasonable, prudent person would want to know how much a trip, vacation, or seminar would cost them, (to the penny) , before they allowed anyone to embark on the trip.
The GSA also spent more of our tax money on a grab bag of expensive gifts for their employees each year. There were high end Ipod, tablets, electronics, and other items. And, believe it or not they are still awarding the expensive gifts to the employees. I ask you, what company in the private sector spends tens of thousands of dollars on bonus gifts for their employees? You would be hard pressed to find many. Folks, it's very easy to spend other peoples money instead of your own and these morons at the GSA and other government public employees spend like a drunken sailor with our tax dollars and then have the arrogance to brag about it. They indeed feel entitled, for whatever reason.
Hell, President Reagan, with a stroke of a pen fired everyone of the Air Traffic Controllers when they demanded too much money and benefits. Once those air traffic controller's lost their job they realized how good they had it. They sniveled and moaned but they brought it on themselves. President Reagan then hired new controllers for less salary and benefits.
I suggest that if this administration had a backbone President Obama would use the power of his pen and fire these entrenched government employees and start from square one again. There are tens of thousands of job applicants waiting in line that could fill the positions for less money and benefits and would be happy to do the job.
This administration has the idea that our taxpayer money is their own private piggy bank which they raid and spread around willy-nilly. Even though the head of the GSA and two others were forced to resign, I say that's not enough. The few hundred employees that attended this $800,000 romp should be fired, "IMMEDIATELY." The video was very clear that the attendees didn't care one bit about the cost of the trip. They relished in the fact that they were gaming and cheating us taxpayers.
Each government agencies should be mandated to have a committee that can be held responsible for the review of each and every trip, party, training session or seminar by their employees. Those same committee members should be instructed to go over each and every expense for the occasion, prior to the trip. I predict that if such a committee for each government agency was required there would be no way any agency could blow close to a million dollars on ONE trip.
My view is that these federal employees as well as all public employees should be reined in. It is these powerful public employee unions that are causing cities and states across the country to go belly up. The public employees are milking the system with their total disregard for anyone but themselves. IT HAS TO STOP. Look at Greece, it's public employees being payed over generous salaries, pensions and retirements brought the country to it's knees. Italy, Portugal and Ireland are all in the same bag and it won't be long before the United States will follow in those European countries footsteps. - And, that's my opinion. Make your own decisions, you decide.

Organ Transplant System Isn't Fair-Cheney Favoritism
THE KUHNS REPORT
________________
LAS VEGAS - Hello America, and how is the world treating you?
On March 24, 2012, former Vice-President Dick Cheney, a seventy-one (71) year old man received a heart transplant. Did he get special treatment? Some think so. I personally know a person who had a double transplant, a heart and lungs. He was in his early sixties at the time and according to him, was told by doctors that the cut off date for any person to get a heart transplant was sixty-five (65) years-old and he made the cut by the skin of his teeth. However, after Cheney received the transplant some media heads purport that the the cut off age was seventy years old. Huh? Then, get this, another report on the evening news on 03/25/2012 said that doctors said a 71 year old man was within the age range to receive a heart transplant.
It's amusing how the medical transplant people can fudge and manipulate age in order to rationalize Cheney's heart transplant. I predict the medical ethics of Cheney's heart transplant will be a case study for years.
Folks, there were thousands of "young" people who were in line for the heart. As the situation stands at the present time transplant protocol is generally based on: time on the waiting list, a medical need and where a person lives determines the odds of receiving a new heart.
Cheney received his transplant in Falls Church, VA, the same place he got an implanted heart pump that had been keeping him alive since July 2010. Please note that the implanted heart pump is not a permanent fix. It is recommended the patient wear it for only (two years) . Surprise, surprise, Cheney receives a heart when the limits of the implanted heart pump was going to go belly-up. Coincidence? Maybe! Who knows? It just seems a little strange to me that all of a sudden he is reported to have been on a transplant list to coincide with the heart pump use limits and then had climbed to the top of the list for a new heart over younger patients where the survival rate would be more acceptable.
Remember, Cheney had severe congested heart failure and on top of that has had at least (five) heart attacks over the span of 25 years. He also experienced a large number of heart procedures such as: heart bypasses, angioplasty, pacemakers and surgery on his legs. Does that sound like the man is in good shape? Were there other patients awaiting a heart without so many detriments who could tolerate the stresses of the surgery and fight off the organ rejection factors? I would say, "yes."
Folks, with all of the past procedures Cheney has undergone to fight the congestive heart failure it is obvious that they took their toll on his body. Plus, the man is well over the upper limits to receive a new heart. Currently there are more than three thousand (3,000) Americans waiting for a new heart. About 330 of those waiting die each year before a new heart becomes available.
The organ transplant list is said to be a very regimented, fair process. The administrators say the lists are policed very closely. Personally, I have my doubts about that. Talk is cheap. Do you really think that the people handling the organ transplant lists cannot be swayed one way or the other for reasons only know to them or their group(s). Do some of the officials and health care personnel have an agenda? Could be. Could a person be moved up on the list? Have they been? Anything is possible. Has the health care people manipulated the health care system before? Yes, and it happens everyday in the health field.
Example: Just look at how the medicare program is ripped off each and every day for millions, even billions of dollars by people in the heath care field. There isn't a day that goes by that you cannot read in your local news about some person in the health field looking to scam the system for money, favoritism or prestige. Not in the too distant past, in Las Vegas, doctor Dipak Desai wanted to cut corners and he and some of his clinic employees (nurses) caused the largest Hepatitis outbreak in history by reusing syringes and needles on patients. Not long after that it was found other clinics and hospitals around the country were doing the same thing. Then, lets not forget the 100,000 or more deaths that are caused in hospitals by the health care professionals due to their errors.
In any event, back to the heart transplant list issue. Patients can get on more than one list if they have the bucks to afford the medical tests that each center may require to ensure eligibility. People with money, worldwide recognition, celebrity and/or power have indeed gamed the system.
Example: Robert Casey, former Governor of Pennsylvania was told he needed a double transplant in 1993. Guess what, the next day he received it. Does some people know how to work the system? Could be. And don't forget Mickey Mantle, the New York Yankee center fielder. It was 1995-when he was told he was critical. He was put on the waiting list and within 48 hours in Dallas, Texas he had a new liver. Keep in mind that in 1995, in Texas, the average wait on the list was 183 days. Was it money, fame, what? Then there was the couple that went on the Phil Donahue television Show and pleaded with the viewing audience for a heart for their dying son. During the show the couple received a call from a hospital in Michigan saying they would "donate' a heart to Loma Linda hospital for the child. The parents flew back to California to receive the donated heart. The sad part is- there was a baby in Kentucky that was on the top of the list for the heart.
People, that is just some examples of manipulation of the organ donor system that I see. I, for one, clearly don't have confidence in the lists and system itself. To me it resembles the legal system where two sets of laws apply - - one for the rich and famous and one for the little people. Do I think Cheney received favoritism over and above the thousand of others waiting for a new heart? Yes. Do I think he was well over the age-limit to receive a new heart? Yes. Do I think there might have been other people on the list more deserving both physically and emotionally than Cheney? Yes. Do I think Cheney was too sick and too old for the new heart? Yes. -And, that's my opinion. Make your own decisions in this matter. You decide.

You decide.

Govt. Running Vile,Disgusting Ads: We Don't Need it.
THE KUHNS REPORT
________________
Hello America, and how is the world treating you?
The Secretary of the United States Department of Health and Human Services along with the Center for Disease Control went on television and announced that they are going to release a series of disgusting and vile videos showing people dying, allegedly from smoking cigarettes. . They claim the shock value will make people stop smoking. Wrong! All these videos will do will turn off people from watching television and if some of those people are one of the millions that continue to smoke it will only enrage them and cause them to use their middle finger to flip off our government agencies for splashing the gross, ugly, videos across the television screen.
A message to those government officials that came up with this screwy idea. Hey government people, there is already a warning label on every pack of cigarettes in the country. Everyone knows it is a bad idea to smoke and most American can read a label. That should be sufficient.
The Federal court already threw out the governments attempt to put these grossly offensive photos on a pack of cigarettes. Yet, these same do-good government flunkies are attempting an end run by trying the television route.
Their ad implies that more people die from smoking cigarettes than from any other cause. WRONG AGAIN! And they ( HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES and CENTER FOR DISEASE CONTROL) of all people, should know that. The biggest killer in the "world" is "HEART TROUBLE." Yet, they want to be dishonest and lie to the American public for the sake of shock value.
People, I don't know about you but I don't want to be sitting at home, enjoying dinner and see one of these repulsive, nauseating, sickening ads pop up oi my screen. I certainly don't want any of my family members, especially children to be exposed to, and see these sleazy ads.
Also, I pay good money (maybe a little too much) to these cable companies to provide me and family members with television programming. I certainly "do not" pay them to transmit abominate , filthy despicable photographs and/or videos of persons dying or on the verge of dying. If I want to see horrid video or programming I have a choice from my selection from the cable companies. It is and will be my choice. I "do not" need disgraceful, foul, loathsome advertisements intruding on my home, (my castle) by way of the government saying they have a right to force them onto my television screen.
What is the next government intrusion to control behavior going to be? Will they want to run television ads showing obese people in disgraceful, nasty end stages of life and spout a party line that hamburgers, pies, cakes and candy are killing you?
Folks, we all know that things are bad for us and may affect our health but we as Americans have an inalienable right to make those choices as to what legal substances, food or drink we put into our own body.
Christ, 1/3 (32%) of all traffic deaths in the country are alcohol related. Alcohol also kills 75,000 people a year and it is well known that alcohol shortens lives. Speaking of alcohol. In 2001, alcohol killed at least 34, 833 people just from cirrhosis of the liver and cancer. So, if we use the same shock methods that the government is using to curb smoking - - why not show peoples rotting livers and cancer infested bodies of alcoholics? There is no difference, is there?
My point, - as a person who has worked in the health field for years I can say: People die everyday from a myriad of ailments, diseases and illness. People die of cancer from many different factors. IT IS NOT ALL FROM SMOKING CIGARETTES. Even some medication people are legally taking will cause them to have cancers of all types, tumors, heart ailments, blindness and many other fatal consequences.
We, as Americans do not need some government official attempting to scare and frighten all of us by saturating the airwaves with insulting, graphic pictures showing people dying.
Some of my suggestions on these vicious, vulgar depictions is:
First, the people should rise up and complain to their lawmakers to have the government stop this ludicrous advertisement campaign regarding the smoking public. They should keep their nose out of the private lives of people. There is no reason whatsoever to show sick and dying people to make a point. Second, people should file a lawsuit against the government agencies involved in this fiasco, especially if it makes anyone in their family sick (physically or mentally) from viewing one of these force fed advertisements.
Side note: The harm these wretched cigarette control ads will have on children cannot be understated.
And, finally, if the cable company(s) or television stations in any persons city and/or town airs these worthless ads in the homes of their television subscribers (without express permission) from the homeowner, those cable companies and television stations should be held accountable in a court of law for the ads content and any possible harm to household residents. In addition the television viewer should boycott and not watch any television program that airs the advertisements during their show and they should advise their friends, relatives and associates to do the same.
I , for one, certainly will not support a television show that chooses to run ads depicting the photos and videos of sick, dying, people for the sole purpose to promote a government agenda. - And, that's my opinion. I leave you to make your own decisions. You decide.

Gas Prices-Talk Is Cheap: President Obama, We Need Action, Not Gobbly-Gook
THE KUHNS REPORT
________________
LAS VEGAS - Hello America, and how is the world treating you?
How soon are we Americans going to see something done about the out of control gasoline prices at the pump? These prices are now undermining any economic recovery that may have been on the horizon. The American public is going to pull back from spending and all because of these high gasoline prices. Needless to say the high prices clearly have an impact when we, the consumer, looks at their financial health. The increase at the pump is like a tax to us.
All Obama and his administration is doing is the same ol', same ol'. President Obama went before a crowd of people while he was out politicking for a second term and said his solution, according to him is to "form a task force" to look into the high cost of gasoline. Hell, form a task force? That's only more talk, more dog and pony shows and "NO ACTION."
Folks, Obama is full of talk and no action. He won his election on that talk, talk policy. But what we need is immediate action to get the gasoline prices back to "at least" $2.00 a gallon. Remember people, when Obama took office gasoline prices at the pump were $1.89, now they are at $4.00 -plus, in some states and there is no let up in sight.
Again, remember in the not too distant past when Congress brought all of the oil executives before their gathering to explain why gasoline prices were rising? All that was accomplished from those hearing was all of the Congress people went before the cameras to get their face splashed across the country but coddled the oil execs and didn't have any sufficient result come out of the hearings. This happened on at least two different occasions. The final result is always that the oil titans go home and continue to contribute to the Congressman's political campaigns.
With the oil companies making obscene profits each and every quarter in the "BILLIONS" of dollars our lackluster lawmakers nod and talk before the hearing but in reality nod and wink to the oil companies to continue doing what they are doing. Do you really think these lawmakers who have an ongoing "Lewinsky" relationship with the oil giants are actually interested in taking them to task and have them lower gasoline prices? If you do, I'll sell you a bridge in Brooklyn.
The administration needs to tell the oil companies that unless they lower the gasoline prices the government will immediately cease any and all subsidies that they are currently enjoying.
Another idea, the government should let the oil execs know that the government can go into the oil business and operate their own refineries and stations so it can offer cheaper gasoline to the public. Why not? The government had no qualms about going into the auto business or the banking business and the government already runs a health system and a welfare system so costs can be regulated. It's only one more step to open refineries and gas stations where people can buy cheaper gas. If that would happen I predict that the oil companies would quickly lower their gasoline prices so they could be competitive with government prices.
Better yet, just have the government regulate oil prices like they do in other countries. Right now in Mexico, gasoline prices are just a tad over $2.00 a gallon while our here in America is over $4.00 and close to $5.00 in some states and still climbing. Mexico regulates the prices of oil and gasoline so what's the matter with our government not taking some of these same steps?
If it takes regulating the price of gasoline I say, "LET'S DO IT."Greed by these oil companies is not the answer. The answer is having our government regulate the price of gasoline and if they did I would predict the economy would get a shot in the arm and improve dramatically over night. Hell, the government has no qualms about regulating other businesses and industries in our country. They do it every day. I would suggest to the American people that we insist our government regulate oil and gasoline prices. That will be the only way to have these oil companies fall in line.
If we, the American people do not rise up in peaceful protest all across this nation and march for gasoline price regulation, all that will happen is the gasoline prices will continue to climb.
Folks,Obama is clearly against lowering the price of gasoline. He has already said he opposes drilling off the East and West coasts or the Artic Wildlife Refugee. He refuses to drill on Federal land and he nixed the Keystone Pipe line that would have employed thousands of shovel- ready jobs and now all of that oil will go to China and damage our good relationship with our closest allied partner, Canada. I say drill here in the U.S. and keep all of that needed money here in the U.S.
All Obama is doing is making sure the price of gasoline goes "UP", for reasons only known to him and his friends in government. Don't kid yourself, Obama and Chu and his ilk want the gasoline prices to escalate. His actions in this matter speak much louder that his "hope, hope mantra. His friend and Energy Czar Steven Chu is going to spend $14 or $15 million dollars of taxpayer monies on sea algae as an alternative fuel. Come on! Obama's track record for alternative fuels is in the toilet. His Solyndra fiasco hit us taxpayers in the pocket book, big time while his friends who owned the company made millions to stuff their pockets. Politics? You bet! Now remember people, this is the same Dr. Chu (the guy that works for Obama) who said, in 2008, that he wanted gasoline prices to rise to European levels of $8.00 and $10.00 a gallon. And this guy is in charge of our Energy policy-Can you believe it? I suggest that Obama and Chu are getting their way.
Another way to lower gasoline prices. Stop these lousy wars. Get the United States presence out of the Arab world. Just us being there in the Middle East causes continued turmoil which in turn causes oil and gasoline prices to escalate. Prior to the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan the Middle East was fairly calm and the rest of the world was humming along just fine. However, because President Bush and Cheney made the decision to invade for the "OIL", it turned the entire Middle East into a flaming inferno.
Another suggestion: stop all of the political sparring between Iran and the United States. As long as Obama's people and Congress continue to pick at Iran prices will keep going up. If the United States and Israel adopts a more conciliatory tone toward Iran oil and gas prices could tumble very quickly. So, can the government do something to lower gasoline prices? I say, "yes". There are a number of options to correct this situation.
Every time there is discontent by us Americans the Congress and the administration wheel out the same old line to pacify us until they are reelected to office again. They always propose the same thing, -"alternative fuel" and they say we have to get off the reliance of foreign oil and in ten years we will be free from that foreign addiction to oil. What a crock. Ten years?
As far back as President Jimmy Carter the lawmakers were singing that song. If indeed, they initiated a program back then, and according to them, we would be free from foreign oil dependence. Hey Congress, ten years have come and gone many times over. It's about time to stop the lies you're feeding the American people.
Let me give an example of how it could have been done years ago. Other countries did it. A good example is BRAZIL. That country made a decision years ago to set a ten year time frame to be free of foreign dependence on oil. They did what we didn't do. Brazil actually initiated their program and they used sugar as an alternative and even before the ten year time frame rolled around they had 98% of their gasoline being produced by their own country. They were free from dependence on foreign oil.
Now, just think, if our government were serious about providing Americans with reasonable gasoline they could have did what Brazil did. I mean, Christ, America is bigger and more powerful and has more technology that the small country of Brazil. If that country completed their task within their ten year time frame I have no doubts America could have did it well under ten years. However, I believe our lawmakers and Congress does not have the stomach to really use alternatives to produce cheap gasoline for us because they are too dependent on the large oil barons.
Keep in mind although Brazil did it with their countries abundance of sugar I'm not saying we could do the same. However, we have more than an abundance of sugar beets and can continually turn out crop after crop after crop. People, those sugar beets can be turned into gasoline just like the sugar was in Brazil. There are other alternatives such as corn but corn has been proven to be too expensive to convert. All the government is doing when it tries to use corn as an alternative fuel is provide subsidy programs for the large, rich farmers who are friends with the lawmakers on the hill - - plus ,using corn is raising the cost of food for us Americans in everything from breakfast cereal to breads and food stuffs.
As a side note: Congress should halt all of these subsidies to those rich farmer friends who are pushing to use corn and making millions from the government for an alternative fuel.
There are many other "cheap"alternative fuel selections the government could use to produce reasonable gasoline for us Americans but they are still in that" pay to play mode" policy of protecting their political donors and they clearly do not want to upset the oil executives who stuff their political campaign war chests.
America, we need a government that is serious about buckling down and getting one specific program in the works and within a specific time frame that will "produce gasoline" domestically. It is very doable but the lawmakers do not want to do it. We have the resources, the technology, the intelligence and the people to do exactly what Brazil has done however, our lawmakers doesn't have the will and backbone to say "no" to BIG OIL.
Another side note: Remember when Obama was campaigning for President. He said he would have the most transparent administration in history. If that were the case he would have Congress hold the oil execs feet to the fire, in front of the American people and "demand" specific answers from these fat cats as to such things as: Why are the oil companies makings billions in profits every quarter? What is the matter with oil refiners that they frequently shut them down and then raise gasoline prices? Why isn't the oil companies building more refineries so as to handle gasoline demand? Is there collusion in the refinery shut downs? Price fixing? Speculators? Let the American people hear specific answers.
It wasn't that long ago when Vice-President Cheney in the Bush administration met privately, in secret and met with all of the oil magnates to set an oil policy that was beneficial to him and his colleagues and friends in the oil industry. We all know how that turned out. It only benefited the oil companies who made record profits and many lawmakers on Capitol Hill.
The American people needs honesty, open dialog and transparency from our lawmakers and we clearly are not getting that at the present time.
So, my suggestion to Obama is to STOP this: "let's hope", "we have hope" " we can hope" and "we'll form a task force yada-yadda-yadda stuff. Forget the talk Mr.President. What we need is action by you. Talk is cheap and it is so cheap it won't buy a gallon of gas. Do something constructive and set out a specific plan with a specific time line to complete the task - - then GO FOR IT. President Kennedy did it for our Moon and space projects. Why can't you do something tangible for our gasoline production? - And, that's my opinion. Readers, make your own decisions. You decide.

Personally, I'll Never Buy a Ford Car Again
KUHNS REPORT
_____________
LAS VEGAS - Hello America, and how is the world treating you?
My experience with Ford Motor Company is very disappointing. Let me tell you of my issues with Ford.
First, let me say my family and I drove Fords since the early 1940's. Myself since 1952. I used to swear by the brand (FORD), but NO MORE! Over the years, where ever I was living I would faithfully take my car in for it's scheduled service to the nearest Ford dealership.
In 2011, in Las Vegas, Nevada I took my Ford Crown Victoria in for service. There are approximately two dealerships in Las Vegas that I am aware of. I took the car into the dealer where I bought the car.
The service department customer service representative told me that the cost of repairs to my Crown Victoria would be $4,000.00. Now, keep in mind I bought the Crown Victoria from this dealership a few years prior and during all of that time I only had it serviced by the same dealership. I've never been hit with a car repair for that large amount of money anywhere. To me that sounded like a lot of money.
I told the female service representative that if I paid that much for repairs I would expect to see and retain all of the old parts which were being repaired. I also advised her that I would have a state inspector check out the work to see if everything was done that she said had to be repaired. With that, she became irate and began shouting "you don't trust us?", "take your car somewhere else." When she said that, I wondered what the dealership was afraid of by my having the repaired vehicle inspected and all of the replacement parts checked out.
Folks, that was alright with me. I told her to have my vehicle brought around and that I would take it elsewhere. I reiterated that a $4,000 repair job was a lot of money and I wanted to know for sure what work was being done by Ford and if in fact, the work was done.
In any event I took the Ford vehicle to another repair shop "not a Ford dealer" and had the car repaired. The cost was $1800.00.
I "will not" buy another Ford in my lifetime, believe me. In fact, later in the year, I purchased a late model HYUNDAI .
Why wouldn't I go to another Ford dealership and buy a car? That's easy. Over the years Ford Service departments told me that all of their mechanics and service representatives are trained by Ford, "all the same way." I was told by one dealership that FORD prides itself on employee training saying I could take my Ford vehicle to any dealership in the country and receive the same quality of service and pricing because Ford was consistent in their service of a vehicle.
So, if one dealership is afraid to stand for an inspection as to the work they were to perform on my Crown Vic., it stands to reason that all of the other Ford representatives trained in the same manner might be like this customer service person was.
I wrote the manager/ owner of the dealership explaining the very bad experience I had with his FORD employees and guess what? he sent me a note saying if I bought a "new Ford" he would give me $100.00 off the price of the new car. Can you believe it? Who's he kidding?
This experience with the dealership in Las Vegas made me wonder if over all of those prior years I was ripped off by the Ford dealership service departments.
In any event Ford cars are on my "poop" list. It's a shame too, because of the fact I believed whatever the Ford service people told me all those years since 1952 as I took the car in to these dealerships to have them service it.
As I think back of my dealings with this particular FORD dealership I wonder if other Ford buyers and customers were given the same song and dance and if those other customers paid the outrageous repair bills without saying anything. Apparently Ford will sell you the car but after the sale , "FORGET IT."
Speaking for myself I will never own a Ford car again. If one can't trust the service people to be honest in their dealings what good is it to buy the car and get screwed on the service end of the purchase. - And, that's my opinion. Make your own decisions as to if you want to buy Ford. You decide.
