Spill, Baby, Spill:Our Environment Being Devastated

THE DOCTOR IS IN
_________________

LAS VEGAS- Hello America, and how is the world treating you?

British petroleum still is attempting to cap the oil well that is endangering the environment off of the Louisiana coast. Birds, fish, and sea turtles have been found dead along the Louisiana coast. What does some government officials say? Would you believe they say that they can't be sure the recent oil disaster caused the death of all of the recent sea life.

Here's the scenario: Prior to the oil explosion and over 200,000 gallons of oil a day being released in the water, the birds and sea life was doing just fine. Shortly following the oil disaster, dead fish, birds, turtles wash up on the beach. Is two and two four? I think so! Yet government officials are trying to distance themselves from the disaster. I say, people, if you go to bed at night and the next morning you wake and look out the window and there is snow on the ground, you can CONCLUDE that it did indeed snow during the night.

This disaster that appears to be ready to dwarf the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill is the fault of both the Bush and Obama administrations. Cheney and Bush, solid oil men allowed British petroleum to bypass safety measures that were mandatory in other countries who did deep ocean drilling. The Bus, Cheney administration let this large oil giant get away without installing an acoustic shut off switch at the well site. It was a small expense considering what that oil rig was pumping out but to save a few bucks Bush/Cheney gave in to BP's requests. Second,Halliburton, which was headed by Cheney was the firm in charge of cementing the well a short time before it blew out.Halliburton was in charge of cementing other deep sea oil rigs that blew up. Recently one oil rig off Australia blew out. Would you say that there is something the matter with Halliburton and its cement procedure or the cement itself ? Could be!

Obamas share of the blame in this oil rig explosion and environmental disaster is that he gave the job of Interior to a close friend Ken Salazar. But this guy has many deep ties to big oil and has been a staunch partner with big oil companies. He has had connections with the oil industry for quite some time. Salazar lobbied this administration to allow deep well oil drilling of the coasts in Alaska, the Atlantic , the North Atlantic and other very sensitive ocean areas.

Obama also let British Petroleum bypass environmental rules and regulations and because of that we now have this catastrophic environmental wasteland that may take years, (maybe) if we are lucky, to even get back to some basic livable condition the land and sea was in prior to the fiasco. To give an example--the Exxon Valdez 1989 oil spill and you can still scoop up large globs of crude oil in your hand. And remember, that oil spill was said to be cleaned up years ago. What a lie! And, that's my opinion. People, draw your own conclusions. You decide.

How To Slow Down and Stop The "Illegal Alien" Invasion

THE DOCTOR IS IN
________________

LAS VEGAS- Hello America, and how is the world treating you?

We can control "illegal immigration" if the Congress and these milk toast politicians have the will and inclination to forgo pandering to the Latino communities for votes. That act is shameful! But it appears these lawmakers have no shame.

Here's some things I think will rein in the invasion of illegals into the United States.

* SEAL THE SOUTHERN BORDER WITH A PHYSICAL FENCE:

* STOP EMPLOYERS FROM HIRING "ILLEGAL ALIENS:"

Immediately prohibit any and all employers from hiring anyone who is in this country illegally. Remove the loophole in any existing law that says "knowingly" hire an illegal. When the employer gets caught using "illegal aliens" these slick, slimy employers who hire illegal aliens as "slave labor" cry to the Feds that they didn't know the worker was illegal and since they didn't know the worker was illegal (Ha, Ha) they shouldn't be fined or do any jail time. What a joke and cop out for big business. Who are they kidding?

The Federal government has to MANDATE into law that all employers in the United States, no matter what profession or business has to check and verify "all" of their employees through the E-Verify system to insure that they are in the United States legally. If the government does mandate that all employers has to screen all employees through the system there cannot be any claims of racial profiling when all races are being checked.

In the 1800's the big bankers, corporate and business titans used black slaves for the grunt work. Those slave barons exploited the blacks each and every way they could. Now, today, what's the difference? These employers in present time are doing exactly the same thing that the employers did when the black slaves were exploited and passed around as a commodity and then thrown by the wayside. The present day employers (big and small) are using and abusing the Latino, Asian, East Indian and other foreign illegal aliens in this country just as the slaves were used decades and centuries ago.

These large and small lousy employers have no fear of employing illegal aliens. They actually flaunt it knowing our lawmakers allow it to happen and know that our lawmakers have a total disregard for the good of our country or the worker being used and abused. Also, our lawmakers allow our large corporations and big business to outsource work to other countries like India, China and Indonesia so these giants can use child and slave labor while making billions of dollars on the backs of the illegal alien and/or child labor.

The only difference here in the United States is that we no longer run slave ships to Africa to openly import tens of thousands of slaves so they can work for peanuts and make the employers rich. Instead, our lawmakers continue to leave a porous open Southern border allowing millions of slaves (this time, mostly Latino, Asian and Indonesian) flood into the USA.

These greedy employers don't have to build or pay for ships to bring in slaves, they know they have a constant slave workforce next door.

So, the Congress and this country have to get very tough and actually enforce the law pertaining to employers that hire "illegal aliens" and the fines should be very, very, large for each violation and there should be jail/prison time for the large offenders.

I predict that once a few of these large corporate fat cats are hit very hard in the pocketbook and spend a few years incarcerated for hiring illegal aliens that the practice will stop. The upside would be that if there are no jobs for illegal aliens they will stop illegally coming to this country and the jobs currently being held by illegal aliens will go to legal citizens in this country.

Regarding illegal hiring practices I would suggest the E-Verify system to check the identity of all employees (White, Black, Latino, Asian, etc.,), the key word is "ALL." Checking all employees at a job site, business, etc., is clearly not discrimination. The only workers that have to be afraid is the "illegal" worker.

Just a reminder to some- the illegal alien crowd and their supporters say that we need them to cook, clean, cut the lawn and build our houses. Wrong! As example,it wasn't too many decades ago that the lawn and landscape people were a majority of White,Black and other races, the majority of nannies were White, Black and other races, the construction in the country was mostly done by a majority of White, Black and American Indians.

Factory employees were a majority of White,Black and other races and most of those hard working people were also "LEGAL" citizens. So, to suggest that jobs have to be performed only by "illegal aliens" is preposterous.

My view is that if any alien immigrant entering this country no matter what race or nationally, files the proper paper work to enter the USA and wants to become a citizen and dutifully stands in line with all the rest of the applicants from around the world and receives the proper documents to work, then I totally agree that the person has a right to hold the job and work. Hooray for them!

However, for those "illegal" immigrants jumping the line and thumbing their nose at our legal process using the excuse that all they want is a job should be arrested and deported. Christ, all of the alien immigrants who stand in line from countries from all around the world to enter the USA and get permission to work and eventually become a citizen want the same thing as the "illegal alien", except they chose to abide by legal immigration procedure to accomplish that same goal. Those are the immigrants who chose to follow due process and those are the immigrants that should be working along side the United States citizen.

The legal citizen in the United States should not have to forfeit a job to an illegal alien just because the employer wants to save a few pennies. I could go on and on, about illegal alien jobs and about employers breaking the law by illegally hiring them but there are other areas I want to address in controlling the illegal alien invasion.

* PROPER DRIVERS LICENSE:

Congress should mandate THE REAL ID program be put into action so as to further strengthen Driver License Identification in the United States. This will cut down the opportunity of anyone forging and or altering identification documents.

Side Note: Over the past few decades there have been million of people who eventually became citizens that had to carry a green card at all times. This card showed that the person was in the United States "legally" and the card had to be updated on a regular basis or when there was a change of address. I have heard from some of these "now citizens" tell me that they had no problem when asked to show their card. They were happy to show the authorities that they were here legally. And guess what? THEY ARE NOW CITIZENS and that was because they followed the rules.

* ANCHOR BABIES BY "ILLEGAL ALIENS"

One of the major problems with USA's immigration laws that our lawmakers continue to fail to address is the "birthright" laws, especially as to how it applies to "illegal aliens."

The lawmakers clearly know, as do most people here in the United States that a very significant number of illegal alien women, particularly Mexican and Latino women illegally enter the United States not to go to work bu instead take advantage of an outdated (birthright law). The supporters of illegal aliens make it very clear to the illegals what they can do to take advantage of USA laws and the women are told that they can come into the United States and give birth in any of our hospitals, generally the emergency room, where they will be treated free of charge, no cost to them. The expense for the birth is paid for by the United States taxpayer. The they are told how to get into the liberal welfare system.

These illegal alien women are told point blank that it is illegal for the United States to force a U.S. Born citizen to leave the country. Such maneuvers actually force the government to give this "illegal alien" woman residency as well as the child.

Most other countries have strict birthright laws and we could very easily amend our laws to read:

[Children that are born in the United States are citizens of the "mothers country" unless "one or both parents" are legal residents, or citizens of the United States].

If the birth is questionable in any way a mandate could be included that a DNA sample be provided so as to prevent any fraudulent claims by the father. In addition, there should be a clause stating that all charges for the emergency room and/or hospital treatment "must" be billed to the country of the woman's citizenship when that woman is not legally in the United States.

I predict that if these suggestions were adopted and followed by our Congress, the "illegal alien" invasion would slow to a crawl and we, as a nation, could get a grip on the situation and as such would put legal citizens back to work and energize this country.-And, that's my opinion. People, draw your own conclusions. You decide.

According to Existing Fed Law: All Illegal Aliens Have To Carry Documents

THE DOCTOR IS IN
________________

LAS VEGAS- Hello America, and how it the world treating you?

The Arizona immigration law was only bolstered to strengthen and reflect the Federal laws already on the books that allow law enforcement to ask "anyone" for identification and that includes "illegal aliens."

Lets acknowledge the fact that the majority of illegal aliens/immigrants illegally crossing our Southern border are from Latin America. However, that doesn't mean that every Latin and/or Hispanic person will be stopped for identification. When "any" person, whether(white, brown, black, olive or red skin) is stopped for a traffic violation, a criminal investigation or any lawful investigation by law enforcement officers they should indeed be asked for identification and if that individual is in the United States illegally it is only proper to detain and deport them, period!

Many other countries clearly have a strict border policy against illegal entry by aliens and those countries strictly enforce their immigration policy so, why not the the United States?

Just this week the Supreme Court of the United States used and interpreted Federal law to rule in favor of the government when a person sued federal medical officials out of claims for harm by federal employees.

Writing for a unanimous court decision Justice Sonia Sotomayor said:
"We are required . . .to read the statute according to its text."

So, I submit that if the Supreme Court can say that they are"required to read the statute according to its text" then what is the problem with the courts when it comes to reading the text regarding the laws pertaining to illegal aliens? The Federal law specifically reads: [Every alien, eighteen years of age and over, shall at all times carry with him and have in his personal possession any certificate of alien registration or alien registration receipt card issued to him.]

This law has been in on the books and in effect since 1952 and my view is that the courts should do as Justice Sotomayor said and abide by the law "according to its text." And, that's my opinion. People, draw your own conclusions. You decide.

President Obama Slaps the Face of Law Enforcement Professionalism

THE DOCTOR IS IN
________________

LAS VEGAS -Hello American, and how is the world treating you?

Wow! President bad mouths law enforcement and the state of Arizona.

Recently "immigration rights groups", many in those groups being an "illegal alien", and there were students who were let out of school with the blessing of the education administrators and some of those students carried foreign flags and there were even politicians marching in the streets of many cities across the country opposing the new Arizona immigration law, SB1070.

Some of the marchers protested the White House by participating in an act of civil disobedience and one of those protesters was U.S. Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D-Ill, who appears to be a very strong supporter of illegal immigration and rights for the illegal alien.

Why Mr. Gutierrez doesn't look out for the majority of the citizens of the United States and adhere to their wishes on specific issues is dumbfounding. Seventy (70%) percent of the people in the country agree with the new Arizona law that restricts illegal immigration yet this politician, for reasons of his own advocates an "illegal alien " invasion of the United States.

However, it appears that even President Obama has decided to be an advocate for "illegal alien" immigration and gave a big slap in the face to all law enforcement people across this country. His contempt for these professionals and their character was displayed when he said: Quote- " Now suddenly if you don't have your papers and you took your kid out to get ice cream, you're going to be harassed." How wrong is that? And, the President knows that is wrong. Politics at work? You Bet!

A President of the United States making these kind of statements? That's sad. However, this President who is an attorney clearly knows the law and that law requiring people to show papers has been a Federal Law since 1952,but it appears our President chooses to ignore the law when it is convenient or political correct for him to do so.

Let me remind him about the law relating to "people being asked for papers." Mr. President It reads:

"Every Alien, eighteen years of age and older, shall at all times carry with him and have in his personal possession any certificate of alien registration or alien registration receipt issued to him." Mr. President, that is the law. It is supposed to be the law of the land. And laws are made to be ENFORCED.

People, the Arizona law SB1070 does nothing more that attempt to enforce laws that are already on the books. So for all of the politicians and naysayers crying and sniveling that a person should not have to be asked for papers are either misguided and/or are lying to you, the public, so they can push their own agenda and spin. My view is that the law is already a Federal law and that President Obama, his administration and Congress should have no qualms about enforcing that law or allow each state interpret the law accordingly so that each state can protect its borders and it citizens.- And, that's my opinion. People, draw your own conclusions. You decide.

If You Don't Like Arizona- Stay Away

THE DOCTOR IS IN
________________

LAS VEGAS- Hello America, and how is the world treating you?

At least Arizona government is attempting to protect its citizens. The Federal government has consistently failed to step up to the plate and live up to its responsibility.

The Obama administration has refused to complete the Southern border "physical" fence. In this case Obama and his administration followed in the footsteps of the Bush administration who very reluctantly dragged their feet when it came to constructing a border fence.

As the city of Phoenix, Arizona jumps to the top of the list for kidnappings, illegal alien safe houses, and illegal drug gangs where is the legal Hispanics outrage that these things are occurring in Arizona?

Civil rights organizations, "immigration groups" President Obama and even Mexico are upset that Arizona government actually want to enforce laws that already exist and are on the books.

These same groups and President Obama turn a blind eye to the fact that the President and lawmakers took and oath to protect and secure our borders. The government already has laws that state that illegal aliens/immigrants that are in the United States are committing a crime. That is nothing new, except our "vote counting" politicians continually fail to enforce existing law. The Democrats are salivating at the mouth as they see millions of votes, particularly from the Hispanic community.

What Obama and his cohorts call immigration reform is actually "amnesty." What this and previous administrations answer to the illegal invasion is is to make illegals "legal." That's not a solution to the problem. Instead, it can be called cruising for voting blocs.

I point to President Reagan's fiasco, who in 1986 gave amnesty to "three million" illegal aliens while he and his administration said that would stop all illegal entry into the United States and that his administration would secure the border. The result of that amnesty was (zilch)but what it did do was get us an additional 10 to 14 million more illegal aliens invading our country waiting for another "amnesty program. Now to date there is an estimated 14 to 22 million illegal aliens in the USA and increasing each and every day.

These same illegal aliens with the blessing of the government are currently dumping thousands of pounds and tons and tons of garbage and waste into our Arizona desert each year as they illegally enter the USA ; the illegal alien destroys valuable, sensitive environmental grounds and plants as they trample and run rampant to illegally enter the USA; the illegal aliens are slaughtering Arizona and Texas ranchers cattle and strewing the cattle carcass across the ranchers property; the illegal alien is trespassing and breaking into and vandalizing and robbing ranch houses and property of Arizona and Texas citizens; the illegal alien is robbing and raping United States citizens in Arizona and Texas as they illegally enter the USA; the illegal alien is murdering United States civilian citizens and law enforcement officers in an attempt to illegally enter the United States.

As I stated in previous articles the illegal alien is a large burden on the legal citizen and taxpayer. Many hospitals along the border in Arizona and Texas have actually closed down due to the fact that those hospitals were giving free medical treatment to tens of thousands of illegal aliens. I would estimate that California alone has had to close down at least six or seven hospitals. Again, the illegal alien knows that they can walk into a hospital and receive free health care, something a legal citizen cannot do.

Where's is the outrage by our Congressman and from the legal citizens living here in this great country?

I would like to point out that all of these protesters squealing and whining that Arizona should have a boycott are mainly coming from "immigration groups that want to protect the illegal alien and their families and civil rights groups such as the ACLU who it appears want to look out for the civil rights of "illegal aliens." I thought the ACLU reads: AMERICAN Civil Liberties Union." There is nothing American about "illegal alien " is there? Maybe the ACLU should change their name to "ILLEGAL ALIEN Civil Liberties Union."

Beside the protesters being from or affiliated with immigration groups and many families that have illegal aliens in them there are those lawmakers who just because they are Hispanic are screaming for a boycott against Arizona. To me it appears that these lawmakers are making a possible emotional protest solely based on their heritage instead of trying to initiate substantive dialog into the immigration control issue and solve the problem. To me, it appears these Hispanic lawmakers are trolling for the Hispanic vote so that they can retain their office. Rather than presenting a solution the the problem these protesting groups and lawmakers are the problem.

To bring home the point I would say look at all of these protesting self-interest immigration groups that are in cities like Chicago, New York City, and Los Angeles that want to bus people into the state of Arizona to march against the new immigration law. Those actions are no different that some lawmakers busing people in from out of state to political rallies, or voting precincts or having union members busing members across state lines to march in protest. That's wrong!

I would suggest that the only individuals that have anything to fear from being asked "where they were born' is the "illegal alien."- And, that's my opinion.People, draw your own conclusions. You decide.

Arizona Did The Right Thing: Illegal Is Illegal

THE DOCTOR IS IN
________________

LAS VEGAS- Hello America, and how is the world treating you?

As a person that also lives in Arizona I agree with Arizona immigration bill SB1070. I think it is desperately needed not only in Arizona but across the nation. Only yesterday in the desert of Arizona another Sheriff deputy, doing his job, was shot by five alleged illegal aliens who were using AK-47's. Last month an Arizona rancher was viciously murdered by illegals who were trespassing on his ranch.

The arguments against this bill are really shallow. The detractors cry that the law allows the police to stop people and ask for proof of citizenship. But they fail to realize that police already have the power to stop illegal aliens and the police currently have the power to ask someone about their legal status and the Arizona courts have upheld that power.

The reason many illegals have not been asked for their documents in Arizona and other cities across the nation is that some city police agencies in Arizona and elsewhere choose not to ask the illegals for the documentation. Many cities in Arizona and across the nation pander to the illegals and politicians and they have been failing to enforce the laws already on the books and these law enforcement agencies reluctance to enforce the existing laws result in sanctuary cities that actually protects "illegal aliens."

Currently Arizona has approximately 460,000 illegal aliens. I believe the number is higher and believe the figures are constantly being skewed by lawmakers and special interest groups so as to present a lower figure so they can protect the illegal population waiting for the Hispanic voting bloc .

One of the real problems with allowing these illegal aliens to reside in Arizona and other states is the large imposition of millions and millions of dollars spent on the education, health care and yes, "incarceration." It should be noted that the cost of incarceration of the criminal illegal aliens which have been apprehended for such things as rape, robbery, murder, drug trafficking, human trafficking and identity theft costs the United States citizen $1 billion dollars a year. And, that is just one estimate.

I maintain that if our government actually would have been enforcing the laws already on the books we wouldn't be talking about this situation today.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer and the Arizona legislators really did the right thing. The Arizona Governor and any other Governor of their state have the inherent right to enforce an immigration policy of the United States. In fact, I would suggest those Governors have the constitutional obligation to protect the citizens of their state from illegal entry of illegals, many who may be,or are criminals.

It's sad that other Southwestern states don't follow Arizona Governor Brewers lead and formulate similar legislation. However, it appears some of the Southwest states Governors may have a personal interest in knocking down legislation that would tend to control illegal immigration into the USA.

Speaking about Governors. Lets look at the contradiction of California Governor Schwarzenegger statements. Schwarzenegger pledged California's support for the new national health care bill. Quote: "If national health care is going to succeed, it is up to the "states" to make it happen." Wow! Great. I totally agree that he and California should support national health care and further, I agree with his statement. Now, when it come to immigration reform he does a 180 and is against controlling illegal immigration and is against Arizona SB1070 law.

Here's where Governor Schwarzenegger and I totally disagree. He says it's okay for the states to take steps "to make it happen" on an issue, but he doesn't like it when Arizona takes steps to "make it happen." Instead, he folds when it comes to the important issue of illegals entering the country.

That contradiction by California's Governor gives one pause making a person wonder why a Governor of a state with millions of illegal aliens sapping and draining the states budget and abusing the education, medical, legal and social services system doesn't want to enforce the current laws on the books relating to illegal aliens. Could it be "pander bear syndrome?" Most other politicians that want votes appears to be suffering that same illness.

I would say, Governor Schwarzenegger, just replace "if national health care" in your statement with "immigration reform and/or SB1070" and follow your own statement to its conclusion. I submit that if the Governor meant what he said about health care the same should apply when it comes to controlling illegal aliens. "It's up to the states to make it happen."

There should be more legislators throughout the country that stand up for it citizens like Governor Brewer, state Senator Pearce and the Arizona legislature has done.

Finally, as to threatened boycotts in Arizona- my view is that the Arizona Governor and legislators should ignore them. The only ones going to boycott are self-interest groups, employers that still want to hire slave labor rather than hire legal citizens, and those that want to continue to protect illegal aliens for whatever reason.

Arizona is a beautiful state. It has excellent weather, tons of recreation choices and the state offers its visitors quality service, courtesy and much more than many states. I predict that people will continue to come to to Arizona because of all of the things just mentioned. If the baseball clubs want to stay away, Hey! Let them. They'll only hurt themselves. Those clubs have a great time when their here, so' who's hurting who?

As to the hospitality industry in Arizona. They offer excellent services for individuals, groups and families. They serve some of the best food and accommodations in the country. Again who's hurting who? It is those people that refuse to enjoy the super great offering by the state of Arizona. It will let me and other Arizonians enjoy the pleasures here. More for us!

If people want to make a statement, that's great but when it's all said and done Arizona has prevailed for centuries and it will continue to draw millions of people each year to it's state. People want what Arizona has to offer them and their families and they will come and and enjoy and return again and again.

These individuals and/or groups that want to boycott are only cutting off their nose to spite their face. They are the ones losing out by not enjoying what Arizona has to offer.

If these angry, frustrated people that disagrees with the Arizona immigration law really want to see results I would suggest they let the courts hash it out. It will be resolved very effectively by our judicial system. This- "I'll take my ball and go home" attitude is childish, especially when many of those expressing anger hasn't read the law or doesn't even know what is in the law.

An example, look what happened with the national health care law. Thousands of pages describing the law but most of our elected officials have never even read it through, yet they voted on it. They let their staff read portions of the law for them and then they vote on the law based on lobbyists interests and contributions.

So, boycott? Ridiculous. Arizona will survive and I would suspect most Arizona residents are proud of our legislators and the Governor and we clearly believe in the rule of law.

There are many polls floating about but a recent poll shows that close to 70% of Arizonians agree with the Arizona immigration law 64% to 70% of the people across the nation agree with the law and many states already want to introduce the same type of law in their state and I would hope they do just that. To quote California Governor, "It's up to the state to make it happen." - And, that's my opinion.People, draw your own conclusions. You decide.

Olbermann & Maddow Cable Shows Are Entertainment Shows-Not Real News

THE DOCTOR IS IN
________________

LAS VEGAS-Hello America, and how is the world treating you?

In response to a question by Louis T., asking me how a person can get independent and quality unbiased news coverage relating to politics from the current cable opinion shows that are on television.

Louis, It appears the current so-called opinion shows on television clearly are not the place to get relevant and substantial news of the day and/or a fair assessment of political news. I believe a person only receives a smattering of useful news reports through these type of shows. These so-called opinion shows are nothing more than an "entertainment" show.

As an example, three shows come to mind. They are the Keith Olbermann Show, the Rachel Maddow Show, both on MSNBC and the third is the O'Reilly Factor on FOX News Network.

In my opinion I feel that these three shows are partisan. To explain, I have watched the Fox network, particularly the O'Reilly Factor for over a year and found that it only offered a very strong partisan Republican slant on politics. There was never ever a time I could see any information being presented that complimented any Democratic or Independent view, policy or agenda relating to any issue being discussed in any way.

Compared to major network stations like NBC News, ABC News, CBS News and cable CNN who present news and politics I think these shows fall short.

I would not call Fox News a news show. It appears they pretend to be a news show by having the word "news" in their title and claim to be "fair and balanced" but it appears all they do is have their hosts read teleprompters with the party line which is only favorable to the Republican agenda. And, that applies to all of the hosts on Fox News. I personally cannot see any of Fox News hosts as "journalists" or "investigative reporters." I view them as opinion commentators reading material promoting the party line of one political party, the Republicans.

As to the Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow show. Louis, they are just as bad. I've watched the Keith Olbermann show for years and watched the Rachel Maddow show ever since she got her own show after filling in for Olbermann occasionally.

These two shows on MSNBC started out fine. They seemed fair early on but as the years went on both shows morphed into a Democratic partisan platform. So, in my opinion, what Fox is to the Republican Party, the Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow show and MSNBC are to the Democrat Party. Neither one of these shows represent an independent and/or unbiased take on issues. It's not uncommon for Olbermann and/or Maddow to ridicule, make fun of, or belittle lawmakers, personalities and guests and issues on their show. I see these two shows as strictly geared for entertainment purposes only hoping to grab ratings. The hosts of these two shows make funny faces or try gimmicks that takes away from the value of the subject matter being presented.

Keith tries to be funny and apparently sees himself as a comedian. At times he yells and frequently makes snide comments about people and/or the subject matter he is reading about if it doesn't fit the Democratic agenda. He also constantly rips Fox Network and belittles O'Reilly even though his show is really not much different than O'Reilly's show. O'Reilly pushes the Republican talking points and Olbermann pushes the Democratic talking points.

Olbermann tries to mimic voices like "a wanna be Rich Little" as he attempts to get his point across. He has set up a scenario where he has an ongoing running battle with Bill O'Reilly , Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh and uses his funny voices, snide remarks, insults and comedy props to pander to the Democrats who enjoy watching his slap stick comedy. So my opinion, The Olbermann Show- "Entertainment", "Yes", substantial news coverage, "No." However, Olbermann's special comments segments are an entirely different story. When he gets serious and stops trying to be a clown or funny man he can really relate. I would like to hear special comment segments complimenting not only the Democratic agenda but also the Republican agenda.

I submit that both parties do some good. The Republican Party is not "all bad" and the Democratic Party is not "all bad" but you would never know it watching these two cable giants bad mouthing each other.

I think that squandering valuable air time on a purported news/politics show that is only entertaining and one-sided is a waste. Covering current news and politics from an unbiased perspective would be refreshing and much more interesting. The guy certainly has the talent to to do just that if he chose to.

The Rachel Maddow Show? I think she mirrors the Keith Olbermann Show quite a bit. She too, like Keith, tries to be funny. She also tries using gimmicks and props to grab viewers attention rather that reading nonpartisan issues and events. Like Olbermann she tries try to play "got you" hosting.

When these opinion commentators,-for example,The Rachel Maddow Show finally does have a guest agree to appear on the show to offer their position on an issue she and her research staff have pictures, clips, etc., preset up to embarrass or ridicule the guest when discussing the particular issue. I should say here that Fox News also plays the "got you" game when they have a guest from the Democratic party.

It appears that these partisan hosts have their research people dig up anything that could belittle, embarrass and discredit the guest. That's sad. And, some of the questionable research is sometimes 20 and 30 years old. Rather than letting the guest present their side of an issue it looks like they would rather throw up materials that have nothing to do with the discussion at hand.

I've observed on occasion, that if the guest is talking and presenting their side of an issue the hostess apparently doesn't want the guest to complete their view and looking flustered she waves her hands frantically saying, "let me talk" only wanting to follow her prearranged setup to play"got ya."

Yes, Fox news does the same thing. I've seen segments where O'Reilly had his staff bushwack lawmakers and personalities to embarrass, discredit and belittle them. That's the trouble with these partisan entertainment shows.

It is actions like these that stop Democrats from appearing on Fox News and Republicans appearing on MSNBC. There is no way those people could get their voices heard and have a fair hearing without being caught up in a "got you game" and/or belittled and ridiculed.

Fox News says it is "fair and balanced." It appears to me there is nothing fair and balanced about a partisan Republican platform. As for MSNBC, Maddow says people are "treated fairly" and Maddow says MSNBC is the place for politics. I doubt that unless you want one-sided politics geared only toward the Democratic spin. If you believe Fox News is "fair and balanced and MSNBC's Olbermann and Maddow shows and other MSNBC shows treat guests and issues fairly I have a bridge in Brooklyn I would like to sell you.

In my view these three shows are not news worthy nor are they a place where a person can depend on actual relevant material for informative news and political information unless you're either a Republican or a Democrat and in that case you have the choice of either Fox News or MSNBC. These shows resemble a cheap entertainment comedy show where people can watch each of them blast each other and pounce on the opposite parties views and agendas.

I have been an Independent voter since I was old enough to vote over these many years and I wonder where the independent, nonpartisan, unbiased commentator is?

If I had a television show and knew I had the opportunity to use valuable airtime to present my case I would strive to have both sides heard (without ridicule, embarrassment and belittlement, funny games, comedy props or funny voices) so as to insure that the guest, whether a Republican, Democrat, Independent, or a known personality would return at a later time.

For example, I would allow a person offering the Republican perspective to answer my question and then I would allow the person with the Democrat or Independent view answer my question. I would do it without filibusters by either guest. A moderator should have control of the show and insist they answer the question or move to another question and let the television viewing audience actually make up their mind as to which guest was more credible and forthright.

I would not have the same old talking heads appear for any analysis as these opinion entertainment shows do. The three shows discussed here most always have the same analysts appear and it clearly appears these analysts will spout the party line and agree completely with the host. How many times does the viewing audience hear these same repeat analysts tell the host- "I agree with you totally," or "you're absolutely right."

There is a vast array of talented experts on most any subject matter out there and if it were me I would make certain the audience heard from a varied pool of analysts, including from time to time, views from the Main Street public and everyday middle class people from across the nation.

So, Louis- For you to gather an unbiased view relating to news, current events and politics, I woulds suggest you look to the newspapers and major network news. As to television I would suggest you stick with ABC, CBS and NBC news on the major networks and CNN on cable.

Again, from my point of view the three shows mentioned here can only be classified as " strictly for entertainment." However, if you really want jokes and real comedy and entertainment delivered with your news and politics fix I would suggest "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and the "Colbert Report. They actually do what they purport to do - They really deliver good comedy with their news, politics and current events.

I'm clearly disappointed with MSNBC for becoming so partisan. I have been watching NBC television over 60 years and I always depended on NBC to present news and politics with out partisanship.- And, that's my opinion. You nake your own decision. You decide.
